Check the Tacoma Parts site... I believe you’re looking for a small switch cover (I only have found the large on on Amazon). Could be the part ID 55539 / 55539B on this diagram, but not guaranteed (had to check a trim version that has a blank switch cover, like an SR)...

I'm hoping he will release a switch in the future that matches the stock blue switches, isn't unnecessarily super bright, and the front vs rear lights work properly. This switch is perfect for eliminating a two switch setup, but it could use a few tweaks.

 

Every switch I've seen except one has simple though hole 3mm leds and 1/4w axial resistors ~1k, both can be swapped to other colors or to lower brightness to better march oem or choice. The exception used smd leds and resistors that while tiny were still changeable. Be nice if he mentioned whether it's possible with his.

 

Can the ARB Linx be used to actuate the cameras relays?

 

I did hear that if the black wire from the switch is left disconnected, the switch will not be illuminated. Makes sense. I am planning to go this route. The light doesn’t add much imo especially being on all the time and off color.

 

Probably ground, if left unconnected the led(s) won't light no matter where they get power. I may get one of these to free up an extra switch location there and to see/show how to alter the lighting.

 

If it can supply .1A then yes.

 

Well leaving the switching black wire disconnected didn’t kill the switch backlight light Brian at Anytime indicated. All it did was kill the amber indicator lights when the front camera is selected. When selecting the rear camera, the indicator light still comes on.

So I just took the switch apart and covered the led with electrical tape. Done

 

Anyone have some ideas, just installing this mod, and getting this as a signal from the rear camera.

 

Anyone install a 2nd rear camera for use in tailgate down situations? I've been looking at video switches to accommodate such a thing, but just wondered if anyone has already attempted this?

 

Has anyone in here installed this set up with a switch pro? If so is it farily straight forward? I know it says they are compatible ob the website but looking for first hand experience.

 

Both front and rear camera are giving me this pixelated signal. Not sure what could be causing it. Any thoughts?

 

Actually working in this now. Ran into a snag though, so if you are patient, I'll provide plenty of details.

Worked initially, then think i shorted something.

Edit: I assume we are both talking about er total cameras. One front, two rear.

That is exactly what I'm talking about. 3 cameras total. 1 front, and 2 rear.

 

I just found this switch on atrc.com and it’s exactly what I wanted but I need it in the tall switch format. I have no extra short/square switches.

If you undo the mod, does the rear camera still function normally?

Could be a bad video connection at the relay or harness. My best guess.

Try connecting the video cables on the harness together. Leave the relay and front camera out of the loop.

 

I spoke with Brian, The anytime backup works, looks like I got a bad relay or video harness. They are sending a replacement no problems!
