Have you tried to put the weight of the truck on the slider with a hi-lift and see how much it flexes? Mine almost hit the pinch weld on the rocker panel on the front when I use the hi-lift.

 

lol we don't have parking lines at work so no worries for me!

 

mine still hit the pinch weld....rookie mistake on my part when we installed them. need to get @Jerneyman to notch my pinch welds for me..

 

Not yet, when I had it mocked up it was only tacked. I did stand on it and there was little to know flex that I could see. The square tubing I use definitely helps with vertical deflection and from what I've noticed is superior to round tube when used for the base of the slider. My CBI sliders flexed quite a bit and I didn't like that.

As far as spacing between the pinch weld, I should have enough of a buffer if it does flex. At the closest its probably got 3/4" gap and that's only in one spot at the front fender flare.

Exactly what I used. Bought it on Amazon and just cut out strips with a razor blade. Has lasted 2 years in the weather being stepped on constantly.

 

I would test it out with the weight of the truck on the hi-lift vs standing on it and see if the front of the slider hits the fender flare. My sliders are square tube going to the frame and along the pinch weld and they still flex some.

I think it will be a bigger concern for 2nd gens than 3rd gens though
