That little bolt that holds my access cab window to the latch is now missing so the window is just flopping around. It’s the little things thatre going to make me drive this truck off a cliff i swear

    I would like some advice:

My truck has some paint/clear coat fading.

I looked into wrapping and it seems they dont warranty it if the paint is bad, also its like 3-5k: http://vehiclewrapsaustintexas.com/how-much-does-a-car-wrap-cost/

Would getting it detailed/buffed mitigate this, or for the 3-5k, should I just repaint it?

Buffing and detailing won't mitigate the clear coat issues but it can definitely make then worse. If you want it fixed you will have to have someone completely strip and repaint it as they can't just strip the clear. Unfortunately the quality of clear that Toyota used means that they're infamous for doors and roofs peeling or looking splotchy because the clear was garbage.

The vinyl won't warranty their work because the paint isn't a clean non damaged surface for it to adhere to. So they can lay vinyl over it but the clear could continue to deteriorate under it and cause the vinyl to shift.

It can be expensive to repaint panels like this especially if you have a color that requires blend to match but it's pretty much the only real fix.

I work in a body shop where we have to explain and fix this a lot for customers and have had the repairs done on my hood as well. If your vehicle is still under warranty consider contacting Toyota and asking them to repair it for you.
