Andrew St Pierre White talked about the North American Lexus SUV's being Toyota's with a different body.

 

^More like 4Runner with a different body. Outside the US, it's branded as Land Cruiser Prado.

4Runner -> Land Cruiser Prado -> Lexus GX
Land Cruiser (the bigger one) -> Lexus LX

I have a Prado shift knob in transit from Japan. The new snap-in boot design on 3rd gens limits aftermarket options. Not getting the TRD one because it's too mainstream.

GX470 is similar to 4th gen 4Runner with the 2UZ-FE 4.7L V8 option and A750 5-speed auto, but has full-time 4WD with lockable center diff.
GX460 is similar to 5th gen 4Runner but has the 1UR-FE 4.6L V8 (shared with the Tundra), whereas the 4Runner lost the V8 option. Suspension is similar to the 4Runner depending on the option level. Off-road features like KDSS and Crawl Control are there as well.

You may be able to find a used GX470 for a better price than V8 4Runner of similar year and mileage.

So these came in from Shanghai last night. But of course there's too much junk in my garage until the spring for me to run the wiring into the cab for the fuse tap.

Anyone in KW have a garage I can put the truck in for an hour(probably less) so I can run the wiring without freezing my fingertips off?

Here's the ebay link anyways. Took less than two weeks with a real tracking number and a third of the cost of the exact same kit being sold on TW (less than a 1/3 if you factor in shipping)

Your work sucks.

You can watch it at home, and scream 'There are 4 lights' all you want. You have to wear some skimpy skirt like Picard though, or it is just weird.

 

As long as Beverly Crusher comes to rescue me (though how she looked in the 90s, otherwise that would just be really weird)

Discovered my Extang Solid Fold tonneau actually fits better on the 3rd gen bed in terms of length and width. However, the 3rd gen tailgate and headboard (with the square tube) are taller, so the weatherstripping on the front and rear tonneau edges need to be replaced with thinner ones - 1/8" thick 3M Climaloc neoprene foam from Home Depot works pretty well. Got too dark to take pictures when I was done though.

 

zr2 is better than a raptor, raptors need to shed some lights and tag themselves with zr2 decals.
