    How does it feel to be a generation behind?

    :crapstorm::crapstorm:

    I'm not trolling, I'm serious and the reason I'm asking is because I want to get an idea of how i'm going to feel about driving my truck when the next generation comes out (and I doubt it will go 11 years again like 2nd gen). Trying to predict whether i'm going to buy out the lease as originally planned or whether i'll be tempted not to by the latest and greatest thing that comes out.

    I drive low miles (7500 per year) so I figure by lease end my truck will be worth way more than residual. With the Tacoma's track record these things can easily make it to 200k miles which basically means I can drive this truck forever the way I drive. But do I want to be driving the same truck forever?

    How many of you have bought/leased your 2nd gen new and are still driving it? Did the 3rd gen ever tempt you? How much longer do you see yourself going with your 2nd gen? Finally, do mods have anything to do with that answer?

    2012, with only 40K. I love my truck and plan on keeping it forever.

    Honestly, I sometimes wish I had the newer one, but only because I haven't done a ton of upgrades / customization to my 2nd gen. Once I start upgrading my '08, I have a feeling I'll enjoy it just as much as a new truck for about 10% of the cost.

    A few mods here and there and counting....
    Gonna drive this thing til the wheels fall off. Other than the interior, the exterior doesn't do it for me. And lastly, who cares?

    Drive it forever. I have bad experience with buying out leases though.
