So last weekend I drove up to north rim of the Grand Canyon horseshoe Bend. Put the hotel address in and set off on my trip. Well just before getting up there I’m noticing the route is going way out of the way to go through another park. Pulled over and put the destination in my iPhone and new route was established and saved over a hr and 68 miles of driving .

Do we have a setting for fastest route I don’t see one ?

It's in there under option once you have a destination set. But it still sucks. It tried to have me go 3 hours the wrong direction the other day cause it didnt realize their was an east bound on ramp. I have gone back to google maps

Yea I was hoping not to hear that but I have never had good luck with the factory navigation systems. My Vw and Audi though were excellent using google earth

Stock navigation is useless in my experience. Same issues, they choose the worst possible route

Long distance city to city stuff its okay. Around big towns it's been okay as long as I use the entune app to get destinations in. Generally speaking I just leave it up so I can see side streets and street names.

The in-dash nav blows donkey dick. Especially in Utah, where we use a grid system for addresses. Google maps has been flawless. If only a car manufacturer could pull their head out of their ass and just install google maps in their dash system. Silvercar's rental fleet does it and I love it!

Man If they would just treat the screen like a wireless monitor for the phone I'd be so happy. I'm a nav junky and would love to have android ish built into the head unit without paying for a crap deck with some old version on it

The last time I tried giving it a chance I was around 12hrs from home. Set it to go and also set Waze for the same destination. NTune had me taking an 18 hr route while Waze had me going on a 12hr route. I cant even try using ntune again after that.

I dont even use the dam thing. Total pain in the ass. But I also used to navigate via a Thomas guide. I use my phone with Google maps.
Edit.... forget about even talking/voice mode it, you will spend most of the day arguing with it.

I also wonder if it can compensate for time zones and either way an extra hour 20 for the same distance is pretty big calculation error

I use Waze. I wish we could have an app for that on the E-tunes thing.

So far it’s got me everywhere I need to be. It did have a state park mapped on the wrong side of the highway but had two options for the same park.

I’ve found issues with every navigation program/system I’ve used including Google Maps.
