Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown piqued the interest of many of his Instagram followers on Sunday night when he posted a photo to his story of a FaceTime chat with former San Francisco 49ers great Jerry Rice.

The Hall of Famer now has a distinct impression that Brown would like to join the 49ers.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He wants to come here really bad," Rice said Monday in an interview on 95.7 The Game in San Francisco
"He's talking about running the hill with me - doing all that and just working out and just picking my brain. I don't know if it's going to happen because it's going to be up to (49ers coach) Kyle Shanahan and also (general manager) John Lynch, but I'm all for it if they want him to come on board."

Despite how Pittsburgh's season ended, Rice said he had no concerns about how Brown might fit with the 49ers.

“This guy, man, he’s a totally, complete team player," Rice said. "I don’t know what happened in Pittsburgh, but I know that this guy, if he comes here to San Francisco, he’s going to do everything possible to help this team to win.”

Brown had an NFL-high 15 touchdown catches in 2018 and recorded 104 receptions for 1,297 yards. Pittsburgh would be hit with $21.12 million in dead salary-cap space by moving him, but the team would then be freed of his $22.165 million salary for 2019. He is set to earn a $2.5 million roster bonus on March 17, four days after the league year begins

Tomlin reporter as saying over the years that as long as he produces on the field, he’ll deal with AB’s attitude.

What kind of HC mentality is that.

He’s been a garbage HC for years. I can’t beleive Rooney hasn’t fired him, but Art != Dan.

That Deflategate thing was such a crock of crap. Put a properly inflated football in your refrigerator for 30 minutes and damned if it doesn't lose 2lbs of pressure, then regain 2lbs when it warms up. Happens every single time.

You can't magically change the physical laws of the universe, although bleating about "integrity of the League" has snookered people into believing so.

Meh. What has always bugged me about deflategate (other than the overblown coverage) is that only one of them was deflated by 2psi, and that Jackson (who supposedly started the whole thing off by thinking that the ball he intercepted was underinflated) said later in an interview that he didn't notice anything odd about it. I wonder which ball it was that the Colts had on their sideline before it got handed back to the League...

But regardless, deflategate shmeflategate. A lot of opposing fans were ready to believe anything that implicated the Patriots as playing unfairly, after spending the last 15 years watching their teams (mostly) lose to the Pats, so it's no surprise that it got the coverage that it did. Besides, Brady wasn't punished for alleged cheating so much as he was punished for refusing to bow down to the throne of Goodell. Not like it mattered much anyway; having the first 4 games off seemed to have done him good that following season.

    :notsure:

    1) The punishment and fines levied were above and beyond the maximums established in league rules.

    2) Why to this day has Aaron Rodgers not been punished for overinflating the balls..which he admitted to in an ESPN interview, so this isn't just an accusation..
