So the question is, do I go ahead and have my new tires put on or wait till after saturday? How bad is driving for a couple days on 285/75/16s with no lift going to be?

I might be able to make it by to lend a hand and drink a beer or two. I also have eventually have to drill some new holes on my skid so I might take advantage of the extra hands. Just gotta confirm with the wife.

Depends on how many turns you plan on making/taking between now and then. :D

    Haha. :fistbump:

Honestly, I am still kind of surprised I went with the red. I love the color, but I am definitely more of a silver/gray/brown type when it comes to vehicle color.

If you bring a box cutter to the tire place (so you can cut away the lower flare and other plastic) you should be able to get by for a few days no problems. And no mud flaps

Edit: I personally like to me more proactive though. Like do a cmc, cut plastic and hammer pinch weld before even getting them mounted

This is what it keeping me from going and getting @ilubtimmyhos tires right this minute. Too much work to do before I can put them on and too much "dead" money to be tied up while I wait to do it. I'm working on figuring something out though.

Why is it so hard to find a longbed crew cab 14+ Silverado 1500 in this area? I might have to use this an excuse to get a 2500 Duramax.

Honestly if you just cut some plastic you'd be fine for regular street driving since you wouldn't be flexing too much. But if you want me to do a CMC soon I can do that as well, just to be proactive. That way you're set for the future.

If I wasn't going to be busy with a lift install at the mod day, I could knock out a bunch of CMCs! That's 3 already that need to be done.

No worries. I'm not in a rush, but I am, if you know what I mean.

If you are up for it next Saturday maybe we can get the truck ready for tires and install the springs/shocks I'm getting from BFRT_King Ranch. I can run the stockers for a day or so till I get the tires mounted/balanced. Should I order a filler for the CMC plate? I was going to have Trick Trucks do it all for me but that seemed wildly expensive.

I never want to do another CMC again. The last one I did it was like 101 degrees outside and I almost took my finger off with the grinder.
