I had to do something stupid in 4WD so I stopped being mad at the truck so I climbed the wall in front of our house. Featuring why I was stupid for pulling out the front locker #layindownrubber

Depending on their process then that could be a reasonable cost. We would probably be on the higher side around 6K+ as we will completely remove all trim and glass so you dont end up with any hard clear lines. A lot of places will just tape and mask off everything instead of removing and you run the risk of having those lines when they peel the tape off. Some cars it's not an issue because the windows are easy to mask and some the fitment is so tight theres not a good way to mask it without removing.

We can but then it's a 25% up charge on it as a sublet. I would contact Guffeys Glass on Facebook. The owner Otis is a friend of mine and has done glass in my 4runner several times as well as most everyone I know. Tell him I sent you. He will also come to you which is helpful so you don't have to sit somewhere and wait for them.

Wet sanding if it's just starting and then respraying with clear and then cut and buff afterwards CAN be an option but often when we see these the clear is already too far gone and will start flaking even worse when sanded.

Paint cost has jumped as better more environmental friendly paints and water based paints were developed and put into place over solvent based as well.

Sometimes it can be, but fixing the roof and hood on most vehicles stops the issue. Those two panels being exposed to the Texas sun seem to take the worst beating. Sometimes the tops of fenders will as well but normally just roof and hood.

Some of what you pay for when fixing the panels is also us doing everything in our power to make sure you can't look at the truck and the panel we painted isnt a significantly different color. The paint codes often have several(I've seen up to 14)different variances and so they have to do spray outs to determine which one to go with as well as blend if you have panels that "dead panel" to each other. So if we paint your fender we would usually blend into the door to make sure that the color isn't glaringly different. This is especially important on metallic colors as the new paint may lay down a little differently so you will see variants in the way it refracts light etc. We do our best to make sure once it'sdone you can't really tell we were ever there. I'm sure someone could explain this better than me, but I'm trying.

@Bigdaddy4760 @Misplaced Nebraskan I have a noob question regarding brisket.

Theres no way in hell my tiny electric smoker will fit a full brisket but my HEB sells point/flats separately and I don't know the difference in what each one is. I believe the point is the fatty side and the flat is the less fatty side? I prefer the fatty cut but was also wondering if you've cooked one of these and how they came out. Price wise is ridiculous for what they are but size wise seems perfect for just the boyfriend and I.

    Thanks!

Like I don't know anything about smoking meat?

You have the description of the pieces right, and it's a matter of what you want the meat for. The point is fantastic for making burnt ends, not so much for eating it by itself sliced. The flat is the opposite of that. What you get at a restaurant, depending on if you tell them you want, lean or fat, will come from a piece of meat that has the flat and point still attached, and your answer determines what end the slices come from.

My suggestion is to get a bigger smoker...

A little something every chance we get.

    Everyone listen up good, here! This is the difference between most all of the steps, well explained. I got lucky because;
I still had "good" paint under the bad clear. I only needed a little touch up under the clear.
The guy who did it is a long time friend, with a small shop. But he did virtually all of those little details Kelly mentioned -removed vs. masked, etc.
And because of the mostly good paint, was not so hard for him to blend to the good.
Lastly, a pro shop like Kelly's ISN'T going to take those money saving shortcut. I know they offer a true warranty (I've seen it said!)

Old saw, you get what you pay for. Sometimes, friends can help you get a better deal. Sometimes, spending $6K on a $6K truck isn't worth it. I have a $10K truck, I will keep a long time, will not likely abuse (too much), and have less than $1K into making the body nice. For me, that is worth this small investment.

Probably was. Up "there", BBQ mean you are grilling hot dogs and hamburgers. Grilling steak meant grilling steak.....
No kidding, when we took our son up to beautiful Hoboken, to start at Stevens Institute, BBQ on the yard for the welcome dinner was hamburgs and dogs....

I have a 4 burner gas for general grilling, and a 22" Weber I mostly use for indirect smoking, cause it's so convenient!

    My apologies!

Honestly I like brisket a lot of different ways but when I want just sliced brisket with sides I prefer a fatty cut. I feel like a flat might be better for chopped beef as it wouldn't be as fatty/greasy when mixed with some good sauce.

You could do a good smoked brisket on even a small "Smokey Joe" Weber. Get a big brisket (geez they have gotten expensive), probably quarter it. (Freeze the rest)
You put some charcoal on two sides, a drip pan that fits between. Soak some wood chips (HEB has little bags for cheap). Drink some beer, throw some chips on every 1/2 hour, add some new coal once an hour, and three or so hours later..... yum time.
Cutting samples is allowed after 2 hours is allowed.
What you rub or prep it with totally up to you, but avoid salty rubs.

Buy the whole brisket, you can find 11 and 12 pound cuts. My grill is only 18 inches and it works pretty well. I get teased for picking a small one but do what works!
