I put on board water as a priority before this season for just that reason. Nothing like a 3 day riding weekend to makes you feel gross AF. Or just 1 long day riding down TWE in Moab.

Sold! I'm so in! Gonna spend a little more time getting out of dumpster fire shape and head that way!

I may take you up on this (as long as you don't mind frequent stops for the wheezing to subside)!

Well there is that... But I think as I get older the more I want to bike and the less I want to Board.

Her coat is very striking in person, so black and shiny! People thought she was a lab puppy for the longest time until her ears popped up. She's smarter than me so we are going to do some obedience classes together soon. She's learned every trick I can throw at her.

Oof... I dunno, man. Maybe just less "SHRED THE GNAR" and more carvey curvey pow cruising??? I've been in Dallas a few years now, but I sure do miss me some mountains and four seasons :(.

I love my Fox factory tailgate pad. Keeps the bikes very secure.

What shells are you two using? Are they level with the cab or are you using mid-rise caps? I'm wanting to get a shell for my 2012 DCSB to put my bicycle in when going camping with my teardrop trailer and wanted some place dry to keep it in. I'm not sure if I would be better served with the mid-rise or go with the ones level with the cab.

The mid rise would be much easier to put the bikes in... I have a 2x6 board with kuat dirtbag mounts that I use with my 27.5 mtb with a 160mm fork, size medium frame... I have to tilt the bike to get it in and then it will stand upright under my cab high shell (with the dropper post all the way down). I was hoping to make a slide type tray I initially but it’s impossible with the cab high shell.

Cab height. What @jenren81 said is spot on. Tilting is mandatory to load/unload. As much as I like the security of transporting my bikes this way, I’m looking to move to a hitch tray style rack.

I went with a shell that is level with the cab as I needed to be able to put the tandem on the roof rack. It is always a tight fit getting the single bikes inside the shell as I have to rotate the drop bars down to close the rear glass. If only Toyota had given us the long bed option with the manual gearbox!

Thanks, I found a mid-rise that was the same color as my Tacoma but it was for a 6' bed, I was like doh! I may have to end up going brand new, but my options seem limited that route. LEER apparently does not make them in mid-rise for the 5' beds anymore and I don't think Jason does either, I got a quote for an ARE for a little over 2300 installed with a sliding front window, dome light, kind of hurts lol.

I have a bicycle rack already that is hitch mounted and works on either 1 1/4" or 2" but does not help when I have my camper hitched up haha.

I could get something like this: https://www.amazon.com/HiTow-Multi-Use-Trailer-Receiver-Extension/dp/B073TFH46X/ but reading the comments on it and the Curt brand if the trailer is fairly close to the vehicle it is not going to work and my camper does sit pretty close, it has a short tongue.

IMG_20190125_121728.jpg Swagman, great for the price! It holds up to six bikes securely and plenty of padding as well.

Looking to get my wife into mountain biking. Any suggestions on a good starter bike?
We have looked at the Salsa timberjack and Norco Fluid HT 2. Anyone have experience with either?
    Any help would be appreciated!
