The solution is always more bikes. You just need an early morning commuter that’s quiet.
I commute in a vstrom 650 that’s almosy too quiet.

Agreed!! I'm looking for a ZG1000 Concours to replace the HD actually. Finding one that meets all of my picky criteria is the hard part though. LOL!

I couldn't agree with this more. I live across the river from an intersection that connects to very popular riding roads for people in the bay area. The weekends are terrible with morons on Harleys between their loud pipes and the newer trend to blast rap music so they can hear it over their stupid pipes. But even worse than the Harley guys are the jackholes in the diesel trucks with 40 inch tires that like to roll coal away from the stop sign, it is so obnoxious.

And this is coming from a lifelong rider of sport bikes, Harleys and KTM's that also had lifted diesel trucks. It isn't that hard to not be an a-hole even if you like to have a modified vehicle.

Is it just me or does only a V8 sound decent with a slightly less restrictive muffler? Sixes and fours just sound silly unless your at the track With formula cars.

Those look super comfortable. I'm super new to bikes so I don't know much about them. I got my M1 3 years ago in April.

This one is a V6 and sounds pretty sick. Definitely wake up the neighbors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_J1m3oOqtqc

If you get the chance to toss a leg over one, give it a try. I'm of the school of thought that if you don't try it, you'll never know. Soo many good riding bikes out there, in all classes. The Concours won't compare to your Vstrom for dual-sport capability though! Y'all have way better luggage solutions!!

For sure! I've only ridden the 95 Yamaha YZF 600 I learned on, a couple KTM 640 Adventures and a KTM 1190 Adventure. The YZF was a pile. I got it for $400. The 640's are a blast. I've ridden them a bunch in Baja. The 1190 was just around the block. I had to give it back before I decided to buy one.

I need to get some luggage for the vstrom. I usually strap my backpacking backpack to the passenger seat. I do have a top case though.

I also have this mountain bike rack I built last year. It's 3/4 finished in this photo. Right after I got the rack powder coated I got T-boned by a car on the highway and just started riding again a little while ago. Now it's sort on/off with the riding. My plan was to use it to ride to Downieville, mountain bike and ride the bike back instead of taking the truck. bike rack.jpg

Not interested in the Supra, but I do like your tent and have been planning to buy it for a few months now

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cvt-tent-bed-racks-rock-sliders.567777/

I noticed you have a rack for sale but I wanted something a little more low profile. So I had to make one. 6417D7A9-3910-42F2-8419-D9932D067536.jpg

I’m guna be camping in pescadaro on Feb 23, I’d like to come check it out early that morning.

    That’s a good looking Supra.

V8's are cool too but a lot of good sounding v8's out there. V8's sound better since the cylinders can fire opposite each other. But if you really want to hear something odd goto a F1/Indy race when they are warming up. When those things are not full speed they sound like a broken tractor. Also when they are practicing you are only hear half the exhaust note. it's oddly cool. And yes I had earmuffs on and it was still loud.
