Went from 3rd Gen Taco to 3GT4R to 2nd Gen Taco and finally a V8 4GT4R.
Welp fellas - I might be sticking around the states. Literally quit my job today and got a text out of the blue asking to come in for a final round interview with a company I have been interviewing with for over 3 months. I've been wanting to work for this company for a while now!

If anyone has any insight into any apartments near San Mateo...let me know!

Sometimes those drives come with software that allows you to copy from one drive to another. These sometimes use a bit copy rather than the operating system. If the drive will spin and it’s just starting to go bad, this might work. However if it’s the drive electronics, you will need to replace them before trying to recover-at this point, if you are not comfortable, I would leave it to the pros. It might be $1000 or more to repair. Keep in mind the more you screw around, the less chance you may have of recovering anything.

You could reinstall the OS on your new drive then try to connect and copy from the old to new (except OS).

    Good luck.

I built this computer about 8 years ago for gaming. But I'm no nerd. Insert tab A into slot B is all I know. I have two hard drives. Massive amount of RAM. The primary isn't spinning up. I barely filled the drive up, and the second has almost nothing on it. Way over kill. I guess I could just build another. Just another dumbass move to wait on replacing the drive.

Hopefully you’ll be able to replace the board on the drive and it will resolve the issue. Look up the make and model of the drive and do a bit of googling. It may lead you to a solid temp fix just to copy over what you need. If you ending up loading up a new OS on the solid state drive, I have a few usb to IDE/Sata adapters you can use to attempt to recover the data. I had three drives I stored in the garage during my move, left it in the garage, winter came around and effed it all up. I’m still trying to save $$ money to recover all those years of family pics.

My sister in law have a home for rent in San Leandro, Heron Bay community. I think it’s a 4bd 2.5 Bath two car garage. I can ask if you are interested. But toll across the bridge is $7 now

Dudes...something is wrong with me...lately I’ve been seeing a lot of 5th Gen 4runners in all shapes and form..and it’s appealing to me, makes me almost want one. I mean I can’t have both..is this the IPA talking? I better snap out of it.
