I have a 2014 DCSB 4x4 I bought new in Aug 2014. I love the truck and like someone else mentioned, I like the fact that there aren’t as many around. I’ve made a few mods, small lift, wheels, tires, raptor grill, Leer cap etc. I’m really not sick of the truck at all yet even with 115k miles. I had planned on keeping the truck as long as I could keep it looking like a relatively new truck. It still looks dang good for 115k. I may end up getting rid of it sooner than I had originally thought, simply because I now tow a 4500# boat 3k miles/yr and not sure I want to continue doing it for safety reasons. If it wasn’t for the boat, I’d be keeping it until the frame rusts out!B28E6C01-59FA-4AAB-A06D-7ED73C191717.jpg

I got over a quarter million miles on my '09. I'll stick with the 2nd gen and see which dies first...me or it.

I think you need to look at the economy during these periods also. I also believe the full size trucks are becoming to expensive for a typical buyer.

Second gen best gen as they say :)

I'll admit that I did test drive a third gen and really liked the interior and radio. Don't really care for the grill and the 3.5 engine . I'll be keeping my 2nd gen and if I ever needed a new one I'd still buy a 2nd gen (prob a 2015)

After having both generation's,forget about the 3rd gen unless you want to lease,my 17 still has more problems than my 15 ever had.
Buy a low mile 15 Tacoma,or lease a new one and buy later if you happen to get a good one.

I’ve got an 08 TRD Sport, it has done everything I have asked of it and more. It’s got 134k on the clock and runs like a champ, the power is simply awe-some.

When it’s finally time to upgrade i’ll be looking for a manual 2012-2015 TRD Offroad like the one I test drove and couldn’t afford. The 2012 drove identical to my lifted white 1993 Toyota P/U, I had major nostalgia and still wish I had it. But like I said the 08 is a champ and needed a good home.

Love my 2nd gen and for me makes a great daily. I have driven lots of 3rd gens for work, both as rentals and testing purposes, and I don't like them. If you like the truck, great. Keep it and be happy.

Some things are better the newer they are. Computers, vegetables, fish, and milk come to mind.

Some things get better with age. Bourbon, wine, some cheeses, well kept vehicles.

When I drive the 74 beetle I get lots of looks and thumbs up. I'd love to live long enough for my 2nd gen to be that cool. I doubt it ever will be, but if it is, it'll happen before the 3rd gen.

DSC00700.jpg 20180307_115745.jpg Do I want a 3rd Gen? Yes. Can I afford? No. The loaner I had for the frame swap was a 17 TRD DC and I gotta say I liked it for three days lol. Just being honest. I like my 05 Reg Cab 5 speed too though so its all good.

I have about 150,000 on my 2012 and have no desire for a new 3rd Gen. I'd like to drive my 2012 into the ground. :burnrubber:

I’m happy with my second gen. My next car will probably be an Aston Martin DB9. It will be one or more generations behind depending on how you classify Aston Martin’s production models. I’m ok with that.

I’ve got a little 4banger 2011 33,000 :D. But really though I had my last one for ten years and that was a bitch to get rid of because of the sentimental value but I’m happy with what I have now. 93452306-230E-4E51-A3CF-E9CD5438A8D8.jpg

I love my 2nd gen. No desire whatsoever to own a 3rd gen and will probably go with a Tundra next time instead. 3rd gen just has no appeal to me.
