    Thats what they sent me. They say thats the new style, but havnt updated their website yet. So far it holds it very securely, just put it in today... So far so good

    You can open it almost if not all the way, but it still wont close. And it will not rotate...

    You think the price would go down with the deceased material cost. Not much change in functionality. Still want the newer design though :anonymous:

    I will hold my note 9 in a case but not very well. Most people that use cases full time attach a .metal washer or something low profile to the back of their phone case and then you are good to go.

Very small and unobtrusive. 3M tape mounts the mount to dash and a slim magnetic plate attaches to back of phone or phone case. I didn't like the angle it gave my phone if I mounted it on top of the dash, the phone was angled up too much for my liking, so I mounted the base to the front of the dash right next to the vent to the left of the radio head. 3M tape is very strong, I don't see it ever coming off.

    EDIT: I did try several times to shrink the photos. Sorry for the large images.
    It is tiny in reality.

    Have any of you installed a Hondo Garage mount on a vent which has a TUFSKINS vent ring trim piece ?

    I like to pose a new question to anyone who has installed a Hondo Garage mount: Is the spacing tight between the inside of the back plate and the vent ? Do you think there would still be room to make the install on a vent which has a thin trim piece added to the face of it ?

    The mount has the metal face plate and small plates in the back that sandwich the vent ring. I think they would work with the trim piece. Alternatively, if they don't you could get longer machine screws than provided to give you that needed width.

    speaker and tweater upgrade DMM phone mount and a large wishlist
    +1 for the DMM. esp after the last road trip i did, swapped the spot i had the mount so the wife could place the kindle fire and watch it while i drove. deff going to get a few more mounts so i can have one for the phone and a radio control head.

    I just took a look at the vents in my truck. The lip on the back of the vent ring seems very narrow. Apparently there is enough there for the plate of the Hondo Garage mount to grab onto ?
