Third Gen Leather Seats

BRB... I'm going to tug on my seat.

 

Just checked mine, all good. Also, it is cloth on console side.

So the dealer replaced the entire seat? Whoever did the work is incompetent if they didn't check the new part for the original defect.

 

I stand corrected. the lower seat cushion on the console side is indeed fabric. Black leather/ black fabric

 

Tugged away, still intact. Seems really solid.

I just did Katzkin leather on my truck. The cover is what holds the foam to the actual seat frame. It should wrap around the back of the seat and clip under, and the edge should fold over in the front of the seat and grab the metal lip. There shpuld be a piece of fabric on each side as well that are held in by a plastic clip under the seat belt latch and in the same spot on the other side. There is also an elastic/fabric band that goes around tge foam pad towards the rear of the cushion. The front side clips look to be folded up into the cover.

Looks like a case of shit installer to me.

 

Something is amiss here. My '18 leather Limited seats look nothing like yours. Leather covers the bolsters as well as down both sides of the seat....looks like yours is completely different, again something is not right! Not Toyota.

 

This 100% is not a factory Toyota leather seat. Does your truck have a moon roof? If not... you were taken for a ride...

The premium package includes: Dual zone climate control (separate degree temp settings for driver/passenger), JBL audio, heated seats, moonroof, and leather.

 

Wow, that's quite disturbing. Please let us know how the dealership reacts to your impending screaming fit.

 

This is what a stock OEM premium package leather seat looks like. The most obvious difference from other leather seats is the square pattern all over the center of the seat. The difference compared to the seat you have shown is that there is no fabric on the sides, it is completely leather. Post more pictures of your seat. I have doubts it is genuine Toyota OEM. You should stand firm with the dealer that you want OEM leather seats... You paid for them in your premium package.

The console side of factory leather seat's is fabric/cloth. I checked mine yesterday, I was curious about that also.

 

Bawhahahaha, looks like 1/2 the guys in this thread don't know the interior of their truck too well

 

These are my 2018 TRD OR Premium leather seats with the small squares along the center of the seat. The foam didn’t lift off of the brackets and I have cloth on the sides by the console only.

 

New seat is in and holding up well so far! Apparently the last couple seats were installed incorrectly putting tension on the clips holding the leather & foam down. Third times a charm!
