Some of the boys with the 3rd gen have been installing the accumulator delete package . They say installing the kit gives the transmission a much more pronounced clutch feel as well as a longer clutch pedal stroke increasing the life of the throw out bearing .
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/what-does-a-clutch-fluid-accumulator-do.180006/
Now, there is nothing in writing or proven this far , but the physics behind the delete kit makes perfect sense .
I beleive there are a few guys with 2nd gen trucks who have removed their clutch accumulators and really like the way it feel . Just do a search at T.W.
Have a peek at the kit . The OP is trying to figure out if it will work on the second gen

I'll look into that. Found your thread after the post above and found my clutch pedal play was out of spec. Tightened it up to 6mm near the low end of spec and man it makes the clutch feel so much better on a test drive can't believe I waited this long to do that. Also I didn't hear any trans chirp, but it was only a 10 mile test drive.

I can pull 22-23 mpg driving around 55-65mph; however I usually see no higher than 20-20.5 mpg because I drive 75-85 mph. I still can't complain though realizing I have 430 gears in back. I don't know why Toyota put them on a 6 speed manual. A set of 390s would definitely up the mileage. Perhaps it was for tow rating purposes. I do tend to drive it like a sports car. :)

    SOON...
It'd be geared higher in 6th if our engine had more torque below 2000 RPM. I agree with you, though. I'd rather have better efficiency at 80 mph and have to downshift to fifth every once in a while.

(Relatively) new member here. Glad to see there is a thread for us MTers. Had my Tacoma for about a month and I’m loving it. Got lucky being in a big metro area, I was able to find a few different dealerships that had manuals and get a little price competition going between them. I see elseware on the site people having to drive hours just to have a look at the one available MT truck in their state...ugh...can’t imagine. Anyway, the MT is great and shifts really smooth imo...only wish I could have gotten it with a long bed!

Negative ghost rider...definitely checked on Toyota’s website multiple times and asked a dealer if there was any way to order one and was told no. I think this is something they probably offered in previous years, but stopped making new ones recently. Or maybe they only ship them to certain areas of the country and not CA? Doubt it, but possible. Saw a lot of threads on TW lamenting this exact situation

So there is no confusion, I was looking for a DCLB. I know they make an ACLB, but I needed the DC

Here’s one in TX, the dealers try to get you into what they have in stock, same goes for the online site. I’m sure there’s some in CA

So, I have had the Core-Shifter installed in my truck for a month now.
    https://core-shifters.com/products/...2016-2019-v6-4x4-rc62f?variant=21350990610550
I have been quiet about it because I was working with Core-Shifter on its development and didn't want to post anything until I had sufficient time to use it. My Tacoma is not my daily driver, so it took me a few weeks to log sufficient time on the shifter to give it a fair shake. I will post a new thread for the install and to allow others to contribute.

This shifter is Awesome! :burnrubber:I had one in my Ford Ranger back in college and loved it. The Core-Shifter really makes shifting a lot of fun. There is some increased effort, obviously, so if you lake the lazy shifter that is stock on this truck this kit is not for you. If you like tactical precise shifting then get this kit. There is some picked up noise from the transmission while driving due to the solid linkage, but its a good mechanical sound and you won't notice after a while. The radio makes it disappear.;)

@RedBeard1 posted this yesterday but didn't say much about it. i have the URD ss kit and like it. but i would pay for more mechanical feel. the key is if i can use an arm extension and custom knob on Core's arm... do you know?

You could mount any Hurst stick to the Core-Base - I believe they all use the same bolt pattern. Custom knob is probably doable too, but they threads on the Hurst stick are different from the OEM Toyota ones. Hurst uses a 3/8 on 16 thread. The feeling is very mechanical.

I'll have to email them for the thread spec i guess. the more mechanical the better usually, but the extension & knob are a requirement for me. the stock arm is way too short for me.
