What’s with Toyota and trying to put high revving engines in their trucks

So Tundra is following the same as Tacoma; same cab, new bed, fenders, hood and grill, and shitty no low end power engine. Awesome.

Word on the street is toyota has canned the 5.0L engine option, and will now go with the 1LR-GUE in the new Tundra.
    At least it'll sound awesome...

Can't wait for the new tundra. It will be my next truck after the redesign. Love the tacoma but I just need more room.

In the 20 years I have used the internet, I haven't seen one car debut without the majority of
"Enthusiasts" saying something overwhelming negative or spewing out hatred.

Does it hurt to see something positive in anything?

I think some people need to just go out and get some hugs sometimes.

Cool, I hope this comes out this year(2020), that probably means that we will see a Tacoma refresh in 2022. I'll be ready by then to get something new. My 08 taco keeps going strong.

The average full size truck buyer doesn't want smaller. The current Tacoma probably fills the gap that the first full sized Tundras (T-100s) used to fill.

It's a mule, I wouldnt get too set on details, the 3rd gen mule was a 2nd gen body / styling.

With the proper tune and cams, i think the 5.0l will be fine as long as they move that powerband lower and give up some hp. No one complains about the 5.0l coyote mustang motor in the f-150 being gutless. They even are stoked it gets way better gas mileage than the ecoboost motors. I hope the tundra really goes on a diet like the aluminum f150. It would do wonders for power to weight as well as efficiency.

If they made a identical copy of the Tacoma as a full size, it would be in my driveway the day it came out. I love the look of the 3rd gen and just wish it was a little bigger, so full size Tacoma would be my choice.

If this is the first time it’s been spied, I doubt it’s a 2020 model release.
