What happens when you try to engage 4wd now? Do you get the flashing dash light? Any sounds at all?

The 4x4 light does not come on when I hit the 4wd button or shift into four low but some times the light comes on and stays on in 2wd.

I have seen and driven 1st gen Taco's that had manual lock in lock out hubs. And there are probably 2004 models that have manual hubs. But a lot of the 1st gens had what they call ADD which means Auto disconnecting differential. They have an actuator that slides a sleeve one way or the other to disconnect one axle form the differential which stops the wheels from turning the front drive shaft and transfer case. And the cv,s do turn any time the wheels are rolling. It's a good system I had 1999 Taco with ADD and now I have this 2004 and the 4wd worked perfect on both trucks until the other day when I hit the 4wd button while the rear wheels were spinning and now I don't have 4wd until I can figure out how to fix what I screwed up.
