Yep, as others said it’s got some tubing (2 90 degree bends and a flex pipe) that runs behind the fender, the safari runs outside the fender further and then goes right to the intake

The same shit everyone else has.

My retrofit doesn’t have the parking lines either using an oem ‘11 camera. The lines are generated by the camera, not the radio. You’d have to use an oem camera from a newer truck.

I didn’t buy a camera yet. I just became aware of the prewiring today. This seems popular on TW.

Did you install the the camera? One thing I didn’t think of originally was software compatibility.

The part number I used is from a 2012'ish model. If I get a newer part number I would have to change the harness in my tailgate to the 6-pin one.

Installed the bass knob for my JL Audio ACP110LG-TW1, which fits perfectly behind my seat on the floor. Since no one is ever gonna sit there anyway, took out the floor mat and seat as it renders the cubby useless if I had left it in.IMG_8047.jpg IMG_8048.jpg IMG_8049.jpg

Just noticed that the wire was plugged into the blank. Didn't see that before.

The piece of plastic that the wire plugs into if you don't have the camera.

Yes, there isn't really any software issue, it's just a digital video feed. I bought mine from camerasource.com because it came with the correct plug to match the one under the frame behind the tailgate. All I had to do was open the tailgate skin, feed the wire around, screw the mount to the latch, and screw it back together. Then reach underneath and plug it together. The camera comes on in reverse just like it's supposed to. I've since added the anytime mod and a front camera and those both work just fine with my stock base entune head unit.

The camera I bought from camerasource generates the side lines, there's a loop of white wire in the harness you can cut to disable them though I suppose you could connect the cut ends through a switch to have the choice. I kept it intact since I find the lines useful in determinig wheel to curb distance.

My 75K mile stock ones had an arch. My new Dakar look just like his. Pisses me off. OME won't do anything about it & says as long as they're not broke, they won't do anything about it.

Installed the d-ringe from strap works on my cubbies, removed the dang adhesive from the entire back of my tailgate for my soft topper and put magnets into the Velcro. Once I have proof of concept I'll inject glue from the fuzz side to hold them in place. That glued Velcro strip is stupid. It released from the adhesive and left the glue on the tailgate. Had to use a heat gun to remove and wd40 to finish. Ugh

Also tried something on my tired bumper plastic. Heat gun will bring the oils back up and make it look like new! I did just the step as proof of concept. The spots on the bumper are wd40. 8044.jpg
