Leaky shock. What now?

Bicycle shock, their shocks can also be rebuilt on more expensive models.

 

Bicycle. To rebuild. The hose would still require a hydrolic shop.

 

If you dont have a higher end bike shop, usually desert communities have dirt bike/ATV shops that have nitrogen as well.

So is the fitting tight? That would be the first thing I'd check.

 

I can excuse that, but I can't excuse buying them anyway, ignoring instructions and then blaming poor design for your ignorance. Research will keep you from looking the fool

 

All of my icon shocks except the rear passenger did this to me 2 months ago. About a week outside the yeat warranty. Not sure if it's worth rebuilding since I didn't go that crazy off road and they barely made it a year.

 

Oh I know it was definitely oversight on my part. Unfortunate that of all the big competitors of OEM replacement rear shocks, these alone seemed to have that caveat, and I (and many) missed that part.

And I never look the fool!

Rebuild them. You have a hose issue, not a shock issue

 

The fitting on my King shocks was making contact similar to all of the Icon shocks. I noticed how close it was and made some clearance. I think that more people know about Icons having this issue because of a single thread on this forum. I don't understand how anyone can blame Icon for this.

 

I was unaware of the notch being a necessity, figured for the money I paid the shop that is a registered vendor of theirs they would have known that though. I have them in my garage. Put on some ome rears for the time being.

 

Where's the dirt? Why isn't the spare some type of off road tire?

 

The shop has a warranty on the work that they perform right? I would get them to fix the problem that they caused with their improper installation.

You need nitrogen and the correct threaded air chuck to cut and open flow. You may need to order the chuck online and take it to a place that has nitrogen. No one in town had one. Luckily I had nitrogen at my shop and I ordered the chuck from Amazon.

 

You guys are killing me here lol. OP - rebuilds are cheap, new brands of performance shocks (which you already have) are not. Rebuild that mofo and call it a day. Have them convert to extended travel if needed.

 

But, what if I want to spend $2,400 on new shocks instead of a few bucks on some seals, oil, and a hose?

 

Pretty sure everyone so far has told him to just fix it ?

 

Some snowmobile/motorcycle places can recharge shocks as well. I was told arctic cat uses shocks that need recharging and a similar needle to I believe what fox uses, not sure about Icon.
