For the air portion. Yes. The nitrogen is different.

These shocks are very basic. They're tubes with valves, shims, nitrogen, oil, and air. They all get bolted up inside a tube and you have a shock.

Okay, after reading this thread I have to say.....

    Troubleshooting 101:

If you did something that was against OEM recommendations, good chance that is the cause. Check that first.
Just because you don't see a mark, it doesn't mean there wasn't contact.
Check the stuff you have touched before everything else.

OP is in a place where he can get rebuilds easier than some. For us east coast guys, the cost of shipping the shocks both ways plus a rebuild almost isn’t worth it. I was quoted 330 to have a set of rebuilt after all shipping and new were a couple hundred more. Plus I sold the old ones needing a rebuild to recoup some money as well.

They use nitrogen as well just like almost every shock available for these trucks.

Correct. The nitrogen and air is separate. Sorry I should have worded that different. The pump adds to the air volume. To add to the nitrogen portion is different

Plus time or money to take off and reinstall, plus downtime with backup or no shocks...I dread a "simple" rebuild.

Well OP asked if it was time for kings. I recommended fox haha. I think the reason most will say switch is because the progressive fox/kings ride better and have better warranty/customer service. If he was happy with his icons I don’t think he would be asking about switching and would just rebuild em.

I’d like to add that all it may need is to be tightened up. But be careful, over tightening a JIC fitting can cause failure as well.

No I got it. I was just saying that there are other places that can recharge a shock.

Oh I know and get it. I just laugh sometimes at the forum and how the members can make the smallest thing a multi thousand dollar fix.

However, Kings/ADS/Fox or even Icon RXTs would fix it.

    Edit: forgot about ray 10s
