All I wanted was something made in USA, alum frame, upgradable, name brand. Didnt care if it was a hardtail or not or how old it was. I saw that Cannondale come up on facebook marketplace and snagged it for $200. So far I have another $100 in parts in it. Its actually sitting at the shop this weekend, I think my steering bearings are shot as I couldnt get the play out of the headset after installing a new bar and stem.

Lol. You think bikes are expensive? Youve entered the bottomless pit known as offroading. Throw your wallet in first, then jump in after it.

Right on, I've never owned a Cannondale but heard they are good bikes. I've got a specialized. I'm not sure where they are made. That's the only thing that sucks about old bikes is maintenance.

We’re you close to snapping your driveshaft or are those pretty sturdy?

I’m surprised I didn’t bend it. Must be pretty damn stout after being retubed.

Cannondales of that generation suffer from cracked welds unfortunetly. I figured my truck could have frame issues, my bike could have frame issues, may as well keep the theme lol. I missed out on a Specialized with full suspension, they are great bikes.
