Have you ever purchased a used car? What tools did you use to find it and check into the background?

 

Sorry to tell you there are many ways to manulate Carfax, being in the automotive field for over 40 yrs with plenty of friends in the bodyshop field they would all tell you the same. And yes purchased plenty of used cars, that’s why you need a good mechanic to check it out for you.

Every used car I have purchased I had looked at by a mechanic. However, there’s nothing wrong with using online tools to filter out stuff you don’t want to look at.

And if you don’t believe carfax and other tools that show multiple owners will have an impact on your ability to sell a vehicle, you’re nuts. That was the point.

 

kinda have to agree with Brian, having a mechanic look at it before spending your hard earned money is pretty smart idea. How did people purchase used cars before Carfax? It’s just a reference tool, can’t believe everything you read on the internet.

 

Ask for a huge discount. You bought a used car! Their rear end is hanging out the window not yours.
