Well if its 4 wires it's more than just a side marker. Side marker only would have 2 wires.

You should have a two wire adpater that connects to the 4 wire. Off of that there is a black and white. Connect those to negative and positive wire of the current side marker. The 4 wire is for switchback but they use same harness for single stage also. The connector should attach to existing connector and the other end is just the black and white wire.

See attached pictures. The 4 wires from the box connect to a 2 wire harness. Those 2 wires are white and black, you connect those to your negative and positive wire of the existing side marker. The other end is the only end that will plug into the led strips.

Looking at the way that @no vtec 4me for me has it wired up in post #192 it looks like red and black to the side marker light and yellow to the turn signal. White doesn't appear to be used (I believe it would go to the DRL if you had switchbacks)

    red to yellow sidemarker wire
    black to white sidemarker wire
yellow to light blue turn signal wire
    white unused

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I'm planning on installing mine tomorrow.

@20tacoma17 Is correct, looks like you have a switchback harness but it's only a single stage light. Do above and test and it will probably be the yellow is positive.

Also if you could spread your layout a bit more, looks like you have the 4 wire going directly to the led strip which is bad. Power to the box and box to the led. PM me and we can figure out how FaceTime if it will help.

I recently asked @mesojdm if the single stage amber worked as a turn signal as well and he confirmed that for me. I would think that one wire would need to tap into the signal.

Well if anyone would know, it's @mesojdm, but without a switchback I don't know how it could be both.

I think DD switchbacks have 3 wires to led. At least the extra ones I have here do.

Wiring is as follows from the diode dynamics driver:

    Black- ground
    Red- 100% brightness
    white- 50% brightness
    yellow- turn signal input

On a single color side marker you only need to hook up the red and black wires. Switchbacks will need the yellow wire tapped into the turn signal power wire. In this application (unless you desire it for some reason) the white wire will never be used, it's there for DRL applications.

There it is, Kevin would be equally as knowledgeable as MESO on these.

So would a stage 1 amber act as a turn signal as well as running light if you wired it like this:
    Black- ground
    Red- 100% brightness
    yellow- turn signal input

Just trying to figure this out. Thanks for any input. I just wanted an amber running light and for it to flash when my signal was on. I was under the impression that was possible with the "stage 1 amber"

    *edit*
After reading up on the DD website I think I'd need to wire it up like this:
Black (ground) - to side marker ground
White (50% brightness) to side marker power
Red (100% brightness) to turn signal power

@bulldog77 I just tried it both ways on the bench and both worked as you described above. Red or white hooked to power and then the yellow to turn will make it flash.

Thank you. I can now sleep tonight lol. I was about to go back to the drawing board to figure out what I wanted to do with these lights. I appreciate it.
