How does she like it? Maybe I’ll persuade mine to trade in her sedan for one, I’ll based it on “safety and reliability factor”

She loves it and won't get an other car. Granted she wanted a third gen because it's smaller and can still be worked on quite easy.
I would take her for a test drive at a few places and say you just want to enjoy one for a few minutes. Never say your buying it just want to drive one then make her drive.

My wife fell in love with the new Highlanders, so that's what she got. I tried to get her into a t4r, but she wasn't happy with the third row options.

Same here, really wanted her to get a 5th gen as they are basically the same price, but she doesn’t like driving big vehicles. The highlander does drive great and I would have been too tempted to mod the 4runner anyways.

Yes. That was part of it also... she didn't want me messing with her car like I did my truck. The HL does do a great job towing though. Towed the mid-size u-haul trailer from Seattle to Kansas. Got around 16mpg average over the course of the trip. I'll see what I get when I do the KS - CA trip in June.

This morning my gf got spooked when she saw her phone had a missed call from herself. She was scared it could be associated with a SIM hijack that would compromise 2-step verification on her passwords, which a friend of a friend has experienced.

It's actually most likely just a phone scammer using caller ID spoofing, so it's good she didn't pickup the call, but nonetheless we started to reexamine our account security and looking at setting up password managers and non-sms/phone# 2-factor authentication like Yubikey. Curious if anyone else is experienced with these and has any opinions. Personally I'm thinking of trying Dashlane for a password manager, the other candidate being 1Password, but I'd have to update my MacBook OS for that, which I'd rather not do.

I am reminded of my childhood idol, Jeff Spicoli “My Dad is a TV repairman. He’s got the ultimate set of tools. I can fix it”

    “You can’t fix this Spicoli!?!”

(Leans out window) “I can fix it”

    I fixed it today

What's yubikey? My IG got hacked a while back and email and Amazon soon followed. I now have since deleted FB and IG. Added bonus my phone no longer has ads for things I talk about. I'm more paranoid that I used to be though

Pulled in right next to @TacoZim as he was leaving Pacific Catch Dublin - would've walked over to say hello but was late to an extended family sit down and my son was having a meltdown in the backseat.

Truck looks awesome - for the roof light flash...

Working on my truck tonight starting the big 3/4 upgrade at my brothers place. Realized using his creeper might be sacraligous?

It's a physical USB/NFC key that you use for 2FA instead of your phone number. There are also a few app based 2FA, but the main idea is to stop using your SMS/phone number for authentication as it can be vulnerable to hijacking. Instagram is somewhat notorious for having pretty lax account security, but that's expected to change soon.
