    Thanks. I knew my original method wasn’t going to last long. But it made it through swisha and some trails surprisingly.

    I was surprised to see rust on my compressor. Considering its in the cap and isn’t really exposed to any of the elements. Oh well time will tell.

    I was tempted to go out again, but they have started to open some of the snow machine trails so I decided to just call it for the year. The last trip was so good, its really nice to end on a high note like that.


    Maybe because mine is so dirty right now before I have cleaned it this winter, I cant see the rust. :cookiemonster:

    After helping @Manfred with his electrical panel I decided it was time I get rid of the steel brackets/panels in my engine bay. They cannot be removed (easily) to paint. So aluminum it is.

    Tonight I decided I would remove the old bracket that I made a while back. It’s amazing to me how skills can be developed and the choice of materials change. When I built the original mount I had a welder and some scrap steal. Figure I would paint it and call it good.

    Flashback

    Now that I have been working with aluminum because of the flat bed and the recent fuse panel I built for @Manfred (it’s all in his build) I figure aluminum would be the best route.

    The beginning tonight with the old bracket removed and new one to be cut and bent.

    Also was really surprised how well my solonoid looked. No rust!

    And done. It was chilly doing this but thankfully I had that halogen work light to keep me warm.

    Also @Manfred I somehow managed to drop the last nut when finishing this up. Couldn’t help but think “not again”. Found it though. Hate working in the cold.

    that is super clean! well done peter. I dont think we will ever find that nut lol but what i did find after I got home the last time was a short crimped wire (we were going to use but didnt) resting on top of the positive terminal with a few scorch marks around the engine bay :facepalm:. Needless to say i got fucking lucky not burning the white rhino down:bananadead:

    This that and the other thing.
    uhm why haven't you don't the 1'' uni filter mod yet? all the cool kids have done it. the OEM filter deteriorates and then pieces will plug up the butterfly valves which costs $$ to fix

    Charcoal canister.. Yeah, that's what it was with my friends Colorado..
    Was expensive for his truck too, but it turned out hummer h2s used basically the same part for considerably less money.
    Maybe there's another option for Tacomas?

    So far it’s looking like a $400 in parts. I am going to try and take it off and clean it. Hopefully take care of this when it is warmer.
