Just saying, the Nismo 4x4 model, and now the pro-4X, was basically a Nissan version of the 2nd gen Tacoma’s TRD off-road. Same bilstein suspension, rear locker, engine size... They are not up to the tech of a third gen but still comparable to a second gen. :anonymous:

Do you think Chevy came out with the offroad Colorado to complete with 3 gen tacomas cause the Colorado was crap back in the day

I'd assume it's because the midsize "adventure truck" market is exploding. They wanted a piece! I love the deisel option the did minus 4cyl. If Toyota had a Tacoma with a diesel, I'd buy it immediately.

I swear my dude, I've done my research. Just don't want to ship a motor to Canada, to install it in place of a perfectly working, yet confusing Atkinson cycle engine, instead of having it as a factory option.

Yup. I drove one for 5 years. It was an 06 Nismo 4x4. Compare the trucks side by side on paper... super subtle differences. One is a half inch longer in the front, the other is a half inch longer in the back, similar ride height, similar suspension and everything. I think people ignore them because they haven’t had an update in a while. Current generation started in 05 with a slight refresh in 08.

Well in 10 years if your engine craps out then it will be time for a diesel swap
