The rear driveshaft part is false IIRC. Manual vs. Automatic and the engine displacement may account for a shorter or longer shaft.

Like I said, just have it shortened. Couldn't be easier. All I did was mark on my 2WD shaft where the carrier bearing was and that's all they needed.

If you're getting the diff, bring two people and a tarp. That job sucks with one person.

You'll also need an axle nut set.

People ramble and hem and haw about anything I say.

Yeah, one person can remove the front differential. But it's not fun. A second person makes it easier since you have to lift and rotate it a certain way to allow for the driveshaft flange to clear the transmission bellhousing.

No, Pick-n-Pull is self serve and doesn't work like that. However, you will save a lot of money versus going to a speciality yard.

Give Rancho Toyota Truck Parts in Rancho Cordova a call. They have an impressive Tacoma stock. Expensive though. They're next door from the big eBay seller ToyAuto Mart.

Pro Tip: If you find a car and want to know the gear ratio without decoding the gear code, call your favorite Toyota parts department and ask for the gear ratio with the 5 last digits of the junkyard car VIN. Did this many times.

The oakland yard had parts pulled I thought... maybe it wasn't pick&pull but another company. can't recall.

I wonder just how many of the parts I could just order from gunny - within reason of course. Obviously I'm not going to drop 400 bones on a part I can source locally for less than half that.

Pick-n-Pull has always been self service. There are sometimes laborers who would stand around the entrance who you can pay to get you parts though. Not affiliated with the company of course.

I wouldn’t buy any of that stuff new from Toyota. Everything but the seals, filters, and consumables will be significantly cheaper if you buy used. You’re looking at a total cost of $1,500 for parts versus $12,000.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Takes about 30 secs to measure the run-out with a dial gauge
