Haha. Maybe I've mellowed out in the months since I traded off my 2018 OR. Two months of ownership was two months too many. I couldn't get rid of it fast enough.

I hated the MT transmission and stutter/surging/stumbling issues that made shifting an absolute nightmare when i first bought my truck. Then i came here and learned about OVTune which helped a lot, but stilk had issues. The new version of 1.05 91 fixed everything and in combination with the clutch accumulator delete completely transformed the truck. Its flawless now. All my buyers remorse has evaporated, and thats all thanks to this forum.

There are absolutely fanbois here. God you make one comment looking for help with an issue you have with the truck and people fly off the fuckin handle because their truck is perfect, toyota is god, and how dare you besmirch Tacomas good name. Sell your truck if you dont like it. Its batshit loony how people get so willfully delusional about big purchases they make.

It's hard to complain on this forum about issues or bring up any issues. Tacoma peeps are the most butt hurt fanboys you'll see on any forum. Only liars and competitors don't like the taco, says so above. Me and the guy above and others are the exception I understand, but this truck has huge issues that you fanboys give an easy pass to. The drivability issues are terrible in city driving, it feels like a cvt from 2000. Auto Searches constantly, shifts clunky, no power under 3500rpm which sucks for a truck or anything. If I was drag racing, then ok. I've had the tsb. Not a huge difference. The downshift into first rolling to a stop feels like you're stalling a manual trans. Just not a pleasant experience, s mode and ECT make no difference, makes the clunk abruptness way worse. Toyota says it's normal. It's a nice truck, just severely hindered by its powertrain

I'm sorry you spent your hard earned money on a vehicle you don't really like. You know what, it happens. Sometimes the best laid plans fail. So sell it. Trade it in. Give it away. Drive it to the finance company and walk away. Life is too short to be unhappy. There is no real fix for what you don't like with the truck. It has no effect on some folks driving habits, others live with it and some folks simply just end up very unhappy about it. There is a way out, sell/trade it and move on with a truck that meets your wants and needs.

A bunch of my friends bought tacomas because they liked mine so much but all new ones. I finally started asking to drive theirs to see what the issues are I keeping reading about. Granted my friends has radio issues where it freezes but they have all driven nice and smooth.

Is that is in reference to me? Look the dude is unhappy with his truck. There is no real substantive repair/fix for his complaints. So why should he be unhappy???? Get rid of the POS and buy something that meets his wants/needs. Don't know how that qualified as fanboi crap.

So you think, and want us to believe that there actually is some inherent problem that neither I, nor tons of others have with the engine, and that TOYOTA engineers with all the best resources in the world available to them can’t fix, but a $700 tune can??

Fine, I’m happy you think that, because I have a great bridge to sell you at a price you can’t resist, it’s called the Brooklyn bridge lol!

Show some pics, show some repair invoices with the issues you claim to have on this post before you start calling out names like fanboys, to trying and belittle people that have a happy and joyful experience with the best truck made in its class proven by the best (growing) sales all in spite of constant trolling attacks and bashing with no proof or evidence of any kind.

If I had issues I’d be at the dealer if under warranty, and if no warranty, then I’d be here seeking advice from the great and knowledgeable base of people TW has, instead of cursing out fanboy words and bashing TOYOTA and the truck. That is so lame and typical of someone with no substance and an axe to grind.

    No pics, it didn’t happen
    Cheers!

I completely agree with this post.

My toyota trucks have never been perfect but they do what I need better than the competition for a longer time.

That's why I keep buying them.

Must be a 2nd gen thing, I've had 5 toyota trucks in 33 years and the 3rd gen has been my favorite, 3 years with the it and 40k miles.

I climb into the 04 from time to time and am amazed at how far the trucks have changed in the last 12 years. Other than 4 doors and bucket seats, the 04 was not much more than my 86.

My point exactly about butt hurt fanboys. IE, you. I like how you took personal offense to it, makes my point, just saying. I have an axe to grind, Ive been to the dealer multiple times, the truck has also left me stranded twice for being completely dead. I don't bash on that, might be the second time Ive mentioned it. 4300 miles and is in the shop once a month for issues, none Ive mentioned. I have valid points, going to drive a JL tomorrow. Go back to jeep probs, had way less issues. Between this forum and the Toyota dealerships, with the exception a few cool people. The rest can eat a D. Im out.

should have test drove it before you bought it, all the so called problems would've been evident at that point and than you could have gotten a Honda Ridgeline https://media.giphy.com/media/l0MYKzvI7xx5vyhvW/giphy.gif

I am not a fanboy by any means, in fact if Dodge still made the Dakota I would have gotten another one. My 2005 was just getting worn out and I needed something else. We got my wife a Rav4 in 2015 which introduced us to Toyota, she previously had a Honda Odyssey.
Anyway, what I wanted to say is I decided on the Tacoma due to the experience we had with the Rav4. Overall the Tacoma is a great truck, and I wanted to point out that for me the ECT and S4 work just fine. I didnt like where the power is at first, especially coming from a V8 Dakota, but once I figured out I need to really press the gas pedal down it became a better driving experience. I don't do any Off roading in this truck, so I can't comment on how it would do there. I can see how towing could be problematic for heavier loads. The most I ever tow is my ATV, so not a big load at all. The truck works just fine for me and I do not experience the shuddering or howling diffs, or clunky shifting, although I do get the early shifting, but as I said, the ECT button and S4 work to hold the shifts longer and keep it from going into overdrive. On the interstate I dont feel the constant shifting up and down that a lot of people complain about, what I do get is great gas mileage for a truck. I actually like my truck and I am sorry you do not enjoy yours, and I have a dealership that employs quality techs. and their goal is to make customers happy.

Hahahahaha! right on que! To be frank idgaf what you believe, its clear you're triggered and complety irrational. That $700 tune (which is well on its way to paying for itself in mpg gains by the way) along with deleting the clutch accumulator fixed all my issues.
