Anyone use an electric, tankless water heater?

I have natural gas, but the next water heater just might be a tankless. They are more money, but the cost to operate might make up for it.

Biggest issue is capacity within your electric service. If your service has age to it, plan on spending 2k or more to update it. Several plumbers I am associated with try to steer customers away from the electrical units because of element failure.

Mine would be natural gas, just was curious if it was a tankless issue. Not enough volume.

Gas is the way to go for this install. Many electric units require a 120 amp circuit. Some homes only are served with a 100 amp service.

I have a small electric tank under my kitchen sink for instant hot water...tea/coffee. But no way would I use one for whole house water tank or not. Would be way expensive over nat gas.

The only units you can get on 100 amp service are only 3.5 g/min. And we don't have natural gas in my hood. Gas units have higher capacity.

    Good Morning
Hey it warmed up here. This morning low was only -7.
No big plans today. Just spend a quiet day at home.

Weather man not real sure how much snow we are going to get. He says 6-12+. But with strong winds off Lake Michigan who knows.
I went to the store yesterday and the place was packed. Only had a few items so I paid for it in the liquor dept. In and out in less than 5 min.
