Does anybody know if the boss 2.0 coilovers can be adjusted to 0 inches. Descriptions say 0-2in, but I called toytec and a tech said lowest setting is 1 inch. Can anybody verify this? @Toytec Lifts

We have seen people adjust them down to the 1'' setting before in the past with no issues (on 2nd gens). On the 3rd gen Tacoma's I am going to say yes, they can be adjusted down to the 0'' mark for stock ride height.

The rear BOSS shocks will NOT work at the 0'' lift mark though, you will need at least 1'' of lift back there to insure you don't bottom out the shocks.

    Thanks!

How's the ride quality? I hate the ride of my offroad and only want an inch lift. I've been looking at getting Pro suspension take off because it rides so much better. I'm not looking to go offroad much at all, just fishing & hunting. Been looking for a couple years and even have bilstein 5100's in the garage for 2 years now, but after riding in my buddies it's not any better as far as ride quality goes.

trucks ride harder than any car or SUV. you wont get a nice, soft, comfortable ride. i have the Toytec Boss and theyre a little more stiff but great ride. i think it feels better than OEM suspension personally. glad i did the switch

Thanks for the input. I’ve driven trucks all my life, but this is the only one that’s really harsh on bumps in the rearend so bad. I knew this when I drove it and the longbeds rode better, but I couldn’t get the configuration I wanted. Sometimes it feels airborn on the highway, so this is truly what I’m wanting to correct.

I just installed the Boss 2.0, UCAs and aall. I have tried the 3rd gen sport Tacoma suspension and the 3rd gen OR Tacoma suspension. The sport is stiff and the OR is soft. The Boss is in the middle. It’s stiffer than the OR but handles better. Freeway driving is the same with great control. Truck handles awesome.

I’m new to this place, but I just wanted let you tacoma drivers know how my recent frame replacement and Toytec boss performance lift all worked out.

My 2005 double cab Tacoma qualified for the frame replacement so I decided to replace the suspension at the same time to save on labour. I considered kings, icon, and toytec. I went with toytec because they look great, have external reservoirs up front, and the price was where I needed it. I chose the SPC uca’s. I also chose the option to pay a little more for the shocks that are rebuildable for front and back.

I was going from old stock shocks that had a leveling kit up front. I’ve got to say, driving around town, the ride feels about the same, if not a little stiffer/rougher. It seems to me that the new shocks make a little more noise sometimes. I ended up with about the same amount of lift, but maybe the guys at Toyota who installed it adjusted it to be as close to the same ride height as when it came in for the work.

In conclusion, the toytec parts look nice, but I’m not sure it was worth $3600 if my ride quality is about the same, about the same ride height, and I recall my stock shocks served me just fine on rough roads for 13 years. Hopefully this setup will really prove its worth when I get it out on some really bad roads.

I really like it, my winch and bumper will go on as soon as a have time to install them is why I went with the 650s, I also am not running a sway bar, but I think it rides great! I drive 130 miles a day in it!

Can someone explain the threads to lift ratio? I am looking to lift my front a bit more and did 8 threads per side but my driver side was still leaning so i did 4 more threads on the driver. Now i am preloaded as shit and it doesn’t like speed bumps.

I am running 285/70/17 and having rubbing issues on the back inside of my fender. I little more lift would fix this. But how much lift is too much lift? Ha So i am looking to hear how many threads you guys have on top of the collar.

Extra info, i have an ARB bumper with winch so fairly heavy upfront.

    Thanks!

You need a CMC for the rubbing. I don’t believe people when they say they have gotten around not having to chop when you move towards a 33 or greater. As for the lean I have no suggestions. I am running the 2.5s with Dakar’s in rear and have zero drivers side lean.

I have a CMC.. it is rubbing on the inside of the fender. I have already trimmed a section of the fender too. I had 5100s set on the top perch and had less rubbing. I got the boss setup to prevent having so much preload. so that is what i am trying to determine.
