You are on TW and STILL have to remove your wallet for long drives? How peculiar...

Factory leather. Picked up my truck on 8-20 and left on a 4,500 mile trip on 8-22.
Found the seats ok and wasn’t ever in pain but not perfect. Biggest complaint was sliding around when cornering and the seat was a little firm.
Now at 10,000 and the seat has broken in and I’m happy. Little less firm and feel like I’m sitting in the seat not on it.

Low windshield angle? I think you need to look at other vehicles, the Tacoma is very steep compared to most.

I'd say it's not so much that the roof is low, it's that the floor is high for more ground clearance. Doesn't leave them alot of room for height adjustable seats.

my biggest gripe is the back of the cushion bottom. feels like the outsides of my glutes are hold me up and the bottom isnt supporting the weight.
So far- Ive swapped to roadwire leather, and raised the rear 1/4". next is bring the bottom back of the cushion up about 1/2 with more foam. The thing i notice- the cushion on the bottom has a curve do it. its not flat, so it feels like you fall in a hole. Im 5'10', 180lbs, and 15% bf, so im a normal build. Overall fit is good, just needs tweaking. It is was it is, just gotta play with it and adjust as needed.

I have 2 Tacoma’s. My personal one is a 16 DCLB OR and I find the seats in there more comfortable than the seats in my work Tacoma which is an 18 SR5 access cab. It feels like the side bolsters dig into my thighs on the newer one. Hopefully they will break in a little bit. That truck only has 2500 miles so far.

Always thought they were very comfortable 6'1 and 210. Better than my JK and the family Subaru. Sure a power seat would be great but I like the seating position. Had a mid 80's toyota pickup (86) and in those your butt was almost on the floor the seats were so low

Compared to other trucks, the Tacoma has a low windshield angle. Jeeps in particular benefit from a more upright window.

6' 240lbs I've got about 10k miles on the truck now and the seat seems comfortable to me. I didn't have any knee or back pain driving the coast from San Francisco to Portland and back.

Seats are adequate but barely so. My 2008 used to bother me, mainly in the hamstrings. 2019 seats are hard as hell but it doesn’t get me in the hamstring any longer. I’m guessing they will get better after a few 1000 miles of break in.

They're fine for me but no adjustments is the dumbest thing I've ever seen for how much the truck costs and the roof/windshield visibility is like looking out of a WWII tank.

Agree. Well worth the $32. A 5 minute install that changes the seat bottom to a much more comfortable angle.

I used to have lower back pain until I raised the back of my seat 1”. The spacers I made helped me a ton... the stock height was awkward and my legs were too long to be supported properly lol.

    I’m 6’0, 165lbs

For me the foam is okay, but why a power seat wasn’t an option on a loaded trd or model (prem & tech) is mind boggling in 2017.

That being said, they could have increased the adjustment notches so that it could at least be dialed in a little better. They feel like 2” increments.

I would want the opposite as the seat feels like a sliding board and I am constantly having to shift myself rearward, I would want the front of the seat raised.

I couldn’t agree more...the only seats worse than our Honda Accord (leather) are the cloth seats in my wife’s Mazda CX-5. Those are the WORST seats I ever exerpienced in a car. Road trips are unbearable.

The best seats I’ve ever experienced in a truck were in my 1999 Silverado 2500. Those weren’t just car seats, they were lounge chairs. Which brings me to the Tacoma. Compared to Gen1 seats, the Gen3 seats are amazing! Having said that, I knew going in that when I bought a Tacoma I’d be sitting on the floor boards. I also knew to expect seats that were from the Japanese/Asain automotive tradition —and that’s the conflicting image of the Tacoma. Many people buy them coming from a sports sedan environment initially thinking “ok, this feels kinda sporty and not really truck-like...
I can do this.” And then they are disappointed when they realize they bought a truck, that handles like a truck, drives like a truck, and gets the gas mileage of a truck and itsn’t like the Subaru or the Acura they came out of only with a bed and 4WD. On the flip side, you have the full-size truck club who buy a Tacoma to scale down and aren’t happy because the seats don’t feel like lounge chairs. I see this a lot with my heavier friends. When they ride in my Tacoma, they look miserable. Because the seats are so low and their feet ride higher, their thighs are lifted pushing their stomach up into their chest. They try and compensate by reclining the upper seat back and they look like their lying down with their belly being pushed up.... all bad. Tacoma seats were design for medium framed, skinny people—kinda like Levi’s 501s.

Someone on here actually made front spacers, I’m not sure where the thread went though

Before owning my Tacoma, my previous two vehicles were land rovers. One a 2004 discovery and the other a range rover sport. Perhaps my expectations going in were lower than they should have been, but I was and still am thoroughly impressed by the seats. The lack of leather does not bother me and i feel no significant reduction in comfort from the seats I had in my old vehicles. Only problem is how cramped your legs can feel squeezed underneath the steering wheel. But I feel that is less of a seat problem and more just a nuance of the Tacoma due to its compact size.
