True. My engine bay is getting a bit nasty. Once ToyotaCare is up, I'll hit it with Simplegreen before I take over.

    Yeah, but . . .

I've seen that a lot of riders freak out about it. Saying that it will etch AL if not rinsed quickly and well. At the same time, others swear by it with great results.

I plan to rinse well. :p

Excellent, I should be able to calculate what I need from here.

Including the collar, my V2 MT knob is about 3 9/16" long.

The shafts on the truck appear to be the same dimensions as 3rd gen to me.

About 13-14 threads with a 1/4" undercut with about 1.5 degrees of taper on the primary segment.

I made a shoulder bolt arbor for Tony's knob, looks like I'll still be able to use that for yours. Big bonus on my end!

I figured the shafts would be same if not very similar. Great news!

Will do. I think my keg pic is on a thumb drive somewhere or the Ural forum. I'll dig it up.

One of my first threads was a B/S/T post for it. Russian PoS! Fun as fuck to ride when I could keep it running.

I’ve had a sidecar rig on my bucket list forever, maybe when I move somewhere with less traffic. Unfortunately a friend was killed on a Ural. For that reason alone I won’t own one...and they are a POS!

    Early update this week.

I'll explain the white board in greater detail in the morning, but it's basically what I came up with to condense all of the order information in a way that is easy to reference on the shop floor.

Clearly I am not known for my penmanship, will try to at least get my columns straighter in the future.

I'm sorry to hear that. Mine did save my keester in that respect. I did a number on the side of a Jetta that stopped across the lane that I was in. I credit it to the amount of crumple zone out front that I remained aboard. The driveline was shit though.

Okay, so I basically arranged the order form (well, the google sheet that is linked to it anyway) to spit these shop codes out as well as calculate things on my end. Can't really figure out a way to present the calculations to the person ordering, so I will have to just copy/paste it into an email/PM or something.

examples: will explain from left to right.

    3V2 = 3rd Gen with V2 connection. 2V2 would be 2nd Gen V2.

HAT/SAT/SMT/HMT= Hybrid AT/ Solid mtl AT/ Solid mtl MT/ Hybrid MT

2.5 or 2.0 = bar stock raw material size. Makes it easy to figure out the saw cut stage

De/Al/De = base mtl/core mtl/collar mtl (respectively). Xx means N/A ... or just not relevant to the order.

The next 3 colums are all of the engraving information. Top/side/collar. I try to keep all of those 4 characters in length, and that is what I actually name the corresponding CNC programs as well.

Final column R* = delrin ring, and BG = border grooves.

If I'm making delrin rings, I can just focus on the far right column and quickly know that I should make 6 of them without staring at my phone for 10 minutes like I was for a while.

Will post all of that up for each batch so everyone can double check to make sure I have it all correct.
