Anyone have any clothes dryer knowledge?

Our dryer has stopped drying correctly. After running a cycle the clothes are barely dry and takes maybe 3 hour long cycles to dry a load. Its blowing so it's not the blower. I checked the exhaust line and there's no clog. Its turning so it's not the belt or motor. I've changed the heating element and thermostat. What else am I missing that could be the problem?

 

Are you getting 220 volts to the back of the dryer where the cord hooks up? Is tree an overtime cut-out switch? Is the out flow of air warm at all? Over temperature switch. Damn spell check.

 

What he said, unless it’s a gas dryer. Lol.

 

Also, if it’s a newer dryer (like 10 years), it may have a repair manual inside for “technician use only”. Both my washer and dryer do. They describe how to retrieve error codes and troubleshoot. Might be worth taking the back and top off to see.

 

Make sure the Exhaust vent is not clogged up when it does happen it hits over temp fast and ceases to correctly dry. Simple way to check is turn it on and go to the exit end and see if you have lots of very warm air coming out. If lots of air not warm check voltages at the 220 because some dryers will run motor and fan OK on the single phase but heat element requires both phases of the 220 to heat well

 

I gotchu fam. Do you own a multimeter and able to check continuity?

It isn’t gas if he said he changed a heating element.

Also, there’s 4 sensors and a timer/control board that all come into play as well.

 

I checked and I have alot of warm air coming out of the exhaust. Also checked the exhaust line to be sure and there's no clogs. It seems to be heating since exhaust is hot and the clothes get hot. I'm stumped

 

Is your washer spin drying them correctly? Checking the obvious that you aren’t loading soaking wet clothes into a dryer. My wife did that once and asked me why it took so long to dry....

 

I opened it to replace the element and thermostat and didn't see one. I doubt it had one, it's a pretty cheap dryer and we've had it for about 6 years

Had this issue in the past so it was one of the first things i checked. Its spinning fine from what i can tell, the clothes are as damp as they usualy are.

 

Very good point about the washer not spinning the water out of them had that problem once.

 

Plan on checking this tomorrow. The volts that is.

 

Seems like he wants to bounce around with replies and ignore actual help.

 

Did you blow the thermal breaker in the back? That would cause it to run but not heat

 

Then ill take my appliance technician ass out of here
