My plan for next year is an ATV with a plow. I’ve been doing my driveway with a snowblower but that sucks and this past snow storm I had someone plow it but I don’t think they did a very great job

Rangers have the same frame issues that the Tacomas do. I was looking with my father-in-law back in 2013-2014 and every one I looked at unless it was a 2010 and newer (at the time) had crispy frames. Some were better than others, but I was finding rust all over the cap, the doors, etc. They're probably okay trucks for dump runs and whatnot, but I was shocked how not solid underneath they were.

That's pretty cool, but the lack of frame shot makes me hesitant. I've found that in an ad if they don't mention the condition of the frame, or don't show photos, it's likely toast.

Changed oil in the FJ. Creeping up on 215k. Also threw together a quick platform for the back of the FJ. That way I can keep random crap under it and still have space for groceries, kids crap etc on top. Just a piece of 2'x4' - 3/4" oak sanded plywood, 2 pieces of scrap wood used to help keep it centered between the wheel wells, a few tie down rings, and some outdoor carpet mat.

You make a good point haha. Yeah it's been pretty chilly here too, and people at talking about the coming "snowpocalypse" on Tuesday with 1"-3" of snow. Worst part, besides these folks trying to drive in the snow, is that it'll get below freezing on Tuesday and not warm up until Friday. Ugh.

Besides that Nashville is great! I've got my favorite restaurants and bars all set so I'm ready for y'all to come visit haha.

I have a little Craftsman plow on my lawn tractor. For the $60 I paid for it and the tire chains, it's awesome. Its limit is about 6" of light to medium weight snow. Past that and I don't have enough traction to push it. It's nice to be able to clear those small nuisance storms really quickly though. Anything more and I use the snowblower.

I'm looking into buying an older 4x4 ATV with a plow on it if I can find a decent deal on one that was cared for. It would do a better job than the lawn tractor and would be useful for yard work during the summer too. Plus, they're fun.

I was using a Snowsport plow with my '05 Tacoma to do my driveway. Last Summer, I picked up a Cub Cadet 1864 garden tractor with a 45" snowblower attachment for it. I had an angle plow from another purchase and depending on the storm, will swap them out.

No way, I want the full pop up, 2 queen beds, fridge, hot water, cook top, the whole nine yards!
Nice! What’s wrong with just using bungees to keep it held down?
Do you have a ballast box or the weights for the wheels? Those can help a bunch.

What a day for January! I got the oil changed in my truck and my wife’s car and hand washed the truck. I can’t remember ever being able to comfortably wash the truck in January!

Got my hands on a few old pop-ups from a family friend. Planning to re-spool them and get on the ice. Looks like most people use Dacron backing? Was planning to tie off a 20 foot section of mono and then the hook. I’m sure I’m doing this wrong so let me know what’s a good place to start!

Probably could. But I like to overthink things. Plus the turnbuckles keep it from rattling at all and make it solid so I could strap my cooler down on top and not worry about it if I have to slam on the brakes.

Yep. 30-50lb Dacron line. I put a 6' leader of ice mono on there with a snap swivel and just use pre-packaged Snell leaders .

If you wanted to have tip up set for just Lakers you could lose the snap swivel and tie a hook straight on. Don't forget to pick you up some split shot too to keep the shiner down.

I believe I've got 4lb on most of my tip ups. Can't go wrong with 6lb either. I've just gone light over the years.

Make sure you wrap the reel the right way. As In give it a few wraps, set the flag, then pull the line ( with the flag not facing you) so you don't waste 10 minutes spooling it the wrong way haha .

Turn buckles make sense if you’re going to tie something down to it. Sounds like you’re a man with a plan
