With only a 125K miles, Eaton posi explodes, breaks an axle and wife steers it off to the side of the road and into the drainage ditch. She was so pissed at me. Went out the very next day and bought her this piece of crap. She said do what ever you want with the Suburban. That was a mistake of a thing to say.

Someone must have said that (JD Power?) for them to make that claim. Maybe GM all sat around and noted that the hears someone say that Chevy was the most reliable vehicle. Otherwise, it's false advertising. But then wasn't there a review recently that rated the Ford Ranger Raptor and Jeep Gladiator above the Tacoma and they hadn't even been produced yet? It seems you can say anything you like now.

last Chevy we owned was a 2002 Cavalier. drove it home (15 miles) from dealership, broken front strut mount. drove it 4 hours out of town same night, right front strut completely blew out. got it back home and into service. all new parts, trip home, broke same 2 pieces again. this is all within 3 days of ownership. all in all that car spent exactly 61 days at the dealership for these 2 issues. they would claim they fixed it, only to drive it about 15 miles and have it break again. went thru the process of Lemon Lawing it, we were told we HAD to give them another shot to fix it. I said FUCK Chevy and traded that piece of shit the next day. haven't considered buying a GM product since. and WON'T! yeah I know, it was just a Cavalier. but no new car should have those issues as much as that one did. I have owned cheaper cars that didn't give me a minute's trouble. of course, none of those were GM junk either. just saying. I honestly hope when they go under this time, the government lets them go and doesn't bail their ass out. I hate it for their employees and their families, but the higher ups at GM are complete morons.

Yup, mine is a daily driver for my desk job. Never plowed, towed, or taken offroad. That was "normal". Oddly, I found the secret warranty in a minute that nobody who works for GM could find, ha ha ha. Dealer and GM each blamed the other for the $1800 for the timing chain that the head croaked as well. Told em both to fk off and bought my Tacoma.

Us taxpayers shouldn't have saved their butt the first time, since it was reasons like this they got in trouble.

not just that but the money they blew developing the new mid engine Vette that only a small % of people will even be able to afford. I was not a fan of bailing them out once, I definitely don't want it done again. let em go under! won't hurt my feelings one bit.

The metrics for their study are attached. A very narrow spectrum. I wonder how many surveys they ran before they found one that worked for them. Also note that many manufactureres were included in the survey but not in the commercial.

When GM was bailed out, I knew it was going to be bad for their products and consumers for years to come. If you offered me a brand new silverado to trade for my 165K mile tacoma, I'd walk away.

It says the sponsored research company sent out mailers, they know the VIN #s for their customers, so they could have simply cherry picked which owners to send to.

Well guess what I heard on the radio on the way to work this am? Not once but twice a commercial for Chevy spouting off about how they beat the competition in reliability. So they have not exactly pulled the ads.

Wife’s uncle owns a caddy and Chevy dealerships. Family members are always buying from him except me and my wife. I obviously bought Toyota and my wife drives an Acura. They always give us crap for buying Japanese and not supporting them. I try to be nice and just say Chevy isn’t for me.

The last two family members had to take their brand new Chevy Malibu’s in for issues. One had 600 miles on it and the whole front end was rattling. Found a lot of loose bolts on the front suspension. The other had maybe 200 miles and was just handed the keys. Started it up and the engine light came on. Had it towed and it was a bad sensor.

Wife’s cousin whose father owns the dealerships was sitting in my living room when that commercial came on. I laughed and looked at him and said that has to be a load of bs. He started to defend and then quickly changed and said I was right.

4 ladies at work have newer Malibu's. All 4 have been regular vistors to the dealer service dept under warranty.
