    I've done a mod or two
    It's one of those things that isn't required but strongly recommended. I wouldn't bother with the front. Maybe the rear though because it is so long

    Yeah I think you can get sealed joints, I don't think one is really better than the others. We don't make enough power to fracture the greasable ones regularly so they aren't a detriment and they're nice for peace of mind

    I've looked for sealed quite a bit. I have not found them anywhere. Spicer only has the 1 part # that will fit (greasable). Wasn't going to spend $50 per U-joint for OEM... Which are also greasable anyway.

    Ok, yup for me would be nice to find sealed joints instead of greasing them all the time,
    The Cardin joint has a hidden zerk in the center too

    Further progress on the 4x conversion...

    Spidertrax spacers will not fit manual hubs... I call bullshit, hold my beer and watch this.


    Made a jig so things didn't get completely fucked up.

    Test fit = good to go. (The part you have to make clearance for is the nuts holding the hub bodies on)

    I also drilled the mounting holes out from 1/2 diameter to 5/8... To allow for All Pro extended thread nuts.

    Honestly, I feel like they are 100% safer now, with the alterations, than they were before.

    Spidertrax lugs leave A LOT of thread unused on the front (seems like half the thread).

    The All Pro engage a lot more thread in the main part of the nut, plus you have the extended shank as well.

    Yes they make them they are matsuba easy to find just look em up.

    Edit:This is not the ACTUAL PART # per fsm for the Tacoma.

    They are a Japanese outfit that makes Toyota parts. I want to say some of the oem as well but dont qoute me on that. Leared it from getting my hand dirty finding the manufacturer instead of the distributor.

    So I swapped my original CV back on the truck today after rebooting with SDHQ boots. Last time I struggled getting the CV out with the skids on and so I tried different techniques so in case of a trial recovery I’d be ready.

    First was some different sized crow bars. DIDNT WORK

    Then I tried paracord and my body weight. Paracord broke and I flew into the bushes. DIDNT WORK

    Then I tried a metal cable and a slug hammer (didn’t want to fly in to the bush again) and that was hitting hard, though for sure it would work.cable broke. DIDNT WORK.

    Got tired of trying, took the skids off and had the CV out in 30 seconds. So I guess if I need to do it on the trail I need to pull the skids off and have a crowbar?

    Anyone know the torque spec for the front diff 3rd member? The torque specs I'm finding don't seem right.

    weird, both times I've removed and replaced my CV axle (once on a trail) I kept my IFS skid on...axle popped off with a little leverage on a pry bar

    Which skid do you have? I have the Budbilt IFS skid, it's pretty wide I think but maybe some other brands are bigger.

    I have the all pro skids. I honestly don’t know why it won’t pop out. I tried for about an hour before I gave up.

    But taking the skid off gave you a better angle on it? If that's the case then it must be a difference in the skids
