Went to high school in grinnell but live about 20 min south of Iowa falls now. I have a best friend from college that's from right outside Dubuque. We go there every year for torque fest

Great little town, graduated from Dubuque Wahlert in '83 then did two years at Loras College before I left and joined the Navy. Spent a lot of time running up and down the Missippippi River in the summer, great times.

I miss IA, great place to live and raise a family. Take care!

    Hello,
I am currently wrapping a clients other 5 trucks that are different colors and wants to match his quicksand Tacoma for the rest.
Has anyone here gotten anything custom wrapped with a matching color? Do you happen to know the CMYK or pantone color for quicksand or know of a better resource to find this? I am pulling my hair out trying to match this perfectly
    Cheers

Ironic....after I responded to this with a link to the Toyota Quicksand paint on Amazon (saying I hadn't had a chance to use it yet so I wasn't sure how well it would match), I took a rock to my hood a couple days ago and I left a small scratch near the center of my hood.

I applied 2 coats of Toyota touch up paint, and one coat of clear....then used a coat of compound, polish and wax to finish it off. I have to say it came out very well, and the match appears to be spot on color wise (to me at least). It is so good you can only see the scratch at certain angles and the right lighting, otherwise it blends in very well with the hood.

Take your time and don't apply to much paint...you will want multiple coats though as the first coat was two thin once it dried requiring a second.

lol Yeah take your time and you should be fine. The rock left a dime side dent too so I have a paintless dent removal person coming out this week to hopefully take care of that. My paint touch up has me satisfied there, but seeing the small ding in certain angles of light is bugging the hell out of my OCD. If they can get that out all will be good.

    Good luck with your repair!!

I'm guessing you picked up a pantone color matching book and tried matching it that way?

No matter what color you match it to, the printer you use is going to get it wrong the first 3 times, depending on how good an eye you have. You're going to have to play with it to get it perfect. Each printer is different.
