What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I have the all pro skids. I honestly don’t know why it won’t pop out. I tried for about an hour before I gave up.

 

Lol I was with my buddy that’s been a mechanic for 25 years. So it wasn’t just me. But lol

 

But taking the skid off gave you a better angle on it? If that's the case then it must be a difference in the skids

 

Correct. I’m thinking I’ma fab something up that will work with the skids.

 

for all my weird under the hood engine compartment noises in the last 30 years, I've always used a 3-4 ft wooden closet pole. but I'm sure a smaller diameter wooden dowl would work just fine. I've used this method to find out which bearings were bad, alt, psp, you name it. works great for valve train noises also. Wood is a great conductor for sound, and if you ding it up a little bit, its really cheap to replace.

 

Threw the new high clearance bumper on. Still need to paint and install the swing out though

 

Looks good. Did you make it? Have a build thread? I have a similiar bumper that I want to add a swing out too. Interested to see yours

I would still think at $150 it isn't bad because it actually fits properly compared to the Hilux option and its much cheaper than the real Safari option

 

It was made by Coastal Off-road. Check them out. Highly recommended. It’s the first rear bumper for a first gen taco.

@Area51Runner i can confirm the sequoia diff fits the Tacoma axles....

 

I don't need the darn thing.. I don't cross water or even get onto crazy dusty roads often. Maybe later on in the trucks life, for now the stock box will do. Plus I think the fiance will kill me if I buy another truck part...

 

I bought it st that price last week

 

It is way way to far off to make it even work. The mounting holes are about an inch off overall. It needs new longer tabs or something to make it work correctly

It would seem sequoia only came with 4.10. Might be the easiest option. Everything seems to be identical to my trucks original diff

 

I got 2 of these and cut each pouch end left and right and sewed both of them together to cut out the center pouch that has the husky logo

 

They are Dakars but I don’t know if they are aal. I got them used.

 

Nice! I like the nod to the old Land Cruiser. One of the reasons why I painted my grille white just missing the old emblem.
