It was the wrong thing to do.

The guy in the truck is not the endangered one in the video clip I am watching. What are you watching that leads you to believe he was?

The fact that no one's come forward, the trucker or the truckied, leads me to believe that all of the parties involved are guilty of some transgression. For example, a drug deal gone bad... If the (3) teens walking along were completely innocent and got run over by a bat shit crazy driver, you know they'd be going to the cops, looking for justice/financial compensation.

Or they're all "friends" and know each other... in which case, they all need to get new friends.

Judging by the exposed threads on the shocks... looks like he/she could drop it by about 8" at the most. Although admittedly, I'm way out of my league commenting on that... so who knows what they "could" do.

I don't doubt that there's a back story, but as you said, we don't know it. What we know is what we see - three younger folks who don't appear to be holding weapons getting hit by a truck at high speed. I just can't see justifying what the driver did (even in the slightest way) based on what little we know about it right now - even if he does own a sweet truck. In order for that level of use of force to be considered a reasonable act, it would have had to be a hell of a threat to self and I just don't see it in that clip.

Sorry, I'm not generally a person who gets online and gets argumentative. Evidently use of deadly force is just one of those topics...

(To prevent discussion from going there...no, I'm not anti-gun/etc/etc, yes, I have a CCW, yes, I believe in the right to bear arms and protect myself, etc, yes, I own guns. I'm just discerning on when lethal force is appropriate.)

Oh, sorry! I was in no way saying what the driver did was justified... I was just adding my assumption that multiple parties were in the wrong (leading up to the attempted homicide). The only time I'd condone trying to murder someone with a car would be if myself or some other innocent life were in danger. The driver of that truck belongs in jail, barring some extraordinary back story that justifies the craziness.

Actually, it was probably the comments section of that youtube video that got me riled. Don't ever read the comments! lol.

Good god! The comments section in Youtube is pure cancer, regardless of the video. I only read them if I'm intentionally trying to get riled up... usually in regards to sports highlights.

I'm not arguing moral/ethical justification with you or anyone... but legally, you may not be justified in that action and could be tried for murder.

Again, not arguing if the law is right or wrong morally, just saying that I can't see any circumstance where that "legally" isn't attempted murder with a truck.

Fair enough, I was too vague in the scenario. The intention being chasing the still armed subject who has already committed murder. But I guess semantically, that leads back to the argument of immenancy or at least immediacy.

Gail Gerlach is a great case for us. Worth looking up. He shot and and killed someone who stole his car after believing the suspect pointed a gun at him while driving away(turned out to be only keys.) He was originally prosecuted but was acquitted. Leading back to all of this not being clear cut.

I agree it's hard to imagine a legal defense for the actions of that truck, but stranger things have happened.

Seen at the Port of Seattle right on the dock. Sweet hidden bumper with light bar and super clean truck overall, dig the wheel/tire combo too
