I agree with that 100% the same holds true with the lack of use off the 4X4 system in general, despite the fact people tell me my 4WD will explode if I some much as drive 5' on a hard pavement so far in 57 years of driving I have been unable to break one. My big wish is for my old stick on the floor and lockout hubs back. I own 80 acres of land it used to be so nice to put the case in FWD low to move equipment around without the steering fighting me.

I'm with you Maineah. I put in the 2 wheel low module for just that purpose. It works well. I'm not a fan of all this electrically switched stuff with plastic actuators and other parts. The long lever Ford highboy divorced transfer case and 10 pound locking hub assemblies were meant to last and they did. I was with a friend and we towed a full sized 1000 gpm fire engine (water drained but otherwise loaded) with a 4wd '76 Chevy 2500 in 2wd low, about two miles. No problems.

Are you saying that the driveshaft won't spin when the truck is moving in 2WD? The video shows the driveshaft spinning as it should because it is still connected through the diff and front driver axle, so any movement of the front driver wheel will cause it to turn. Obviously this is a reverse flow of power; going the other way if you spin the driveshaft it won't cause the wheels to turn because the open diff will send all the power to the passenger side which is disconnected at the ADD.

I cannot see how that needle can seal well enough to force grease into all 4 bearings. It will NOT seal. Guaranteed..!!!

All you gotta do if your tip don't fit in there, is grind 2 sides of it a bit..! Works for me..100%.

Like someone said, the best way to access the fronts is to set them @ 7:00 o'clock and 5:00 (looking from the rear, of course.)

    Good luck....

Thanks! I’m going to try my grease gun first, if for no other reason I’m cheap. :). And, if need be, have file and am willing to use it! Lol

Thanks for posting the link!! I been trying to find these greaseless u joints for the rear of my 18. I’m fairly certain even stock “sealed” non greaseable ones are dry if not very low. So can’t wait to order the greasable ones!.

Don't know if drinking the cool-aid or is a fact, but after greasing the front u-joints it feels smoother.

It is indeed connected to the diff but one axle in 2WD drive is not connected, the pinion gears can not work with only one axle they will rotate around themselves it will not drive the ring gear carrier no ring gear movement no pinion movement. There is no reverse movement from any other source the transfer case has already turn off the front drive gear as soon as the axle is unlocked. By the way let's see the video. Here is a dead give away slid under the truck in 2WD grab the front drive shaft it will turn freely in you hand now what you are doing is turning the pinion and ring gear inside of the front diff the carrier is turning around on the pinion gears because one axle is not connected to the pinion gear. I would not doubt that it's possible for the thick cold gear oil may turn it all though rather doubtful. It is exactly what would happen to a rear diff if you snapped an axle once you put the trans in neutral you could freely turn the drive shaft even though the other axle was fine.

Toyota told me they were "lifetime". As a former Marine tracked vehicle mechanic, I can tell you there is no such thing. But, since dealers never greased ujoints even when they were there, I assume corporate just decided to not install them.
