Alabama thread!

Any recommendations to a shock/coil combination to level my front out? On my 06, I just threw adjustable Bilsteins on the stock coils and it leveled it out pretty well.

 

I ran the 620# Eibach coils for a while with 5100s. Ran fine until I added a lot of weight to the truck.

Has anyone in here with uniball control arms ever replaced their uniballs? I know my bushings need replaced in my control arms, but I don't know what the "signs" or lifespan is of the uniballs.

 

I replaced mine before installing on the new truck after about 50K on them. They were lose but I do not think they needed to be changed.

 

I think there will be excess movement from the sleeves inside the uniball wearing out.

 

Hopefully soon I'll be tearing my front end down some to do the maintenance and I'll check them out. Total Chaos just told me once the fabric liner starts to break down things will get noisy and thats usually the time to replace.

 

I need to grease mine for sure, but other than that I think mine are good 2 go still. Got 70K on the new uniballs now.

 

be sure to loosen the bolt before greasing the bushings! that's why mine need replaced....I'm a doofus and exploded the bushings...

 

I'll be buying one of these when the time comes if anyone needs to use it in the future (or help me pay it off while you watch me do it for you). Just need to decide which.

I still think we need an announcement only thread. I tried to get @JBTacoma to create one since he knows about all the rides. That way you could subscribe to it and it would only alert when a new ride or meet was announced. All talk about the ride/meet would need to be in our thread or a thread specifically for the ride to minimize the alerts.

 

That would have been nice...I paid $80 to have mine pressed out...
