If it is a steep hill that isn't uncommon. You can cheat it by using the parking brake to hold you while you move your foot. But.... big but..... that transmission noise sounds like a problem if it is indeed your transmission and not a brake controller grabbing the brake.

Pretty sure it's your disc brakes grabbing as part of 'hill assist'. It does sound quite alarming before knowing what it actually is. I think the traction control light will illuminate on the gauge cluster for a moment when this happens as well. Completely normal. Someone else correct me if I'm mistaken.

Ordered in a different USB from Air On Board that is similar to the one I’ve been using for a few years, but has the small slot covers. This mounts on the left side of the dash. Still need to install it.
Ordered a Autodim, Compass and Homelink Rearview Mirror with the Blue backlighting.
    Also my favorite Magazine arrived.

Not a fan of the way it looks but got around to installing mud guards. Just not worth not having them. My 17 didn’t have flaps and even on stock wheels/tires and pavement princess the rockers / fenders were beat after a year.

Added mud guards to mine as well, definitely great protection for the truck.

Accumulator deleted. My feeling so far, definitely a noticeable difference. The clutch pedal is easier to press and has more sensitivity to it. There is a distinguishable point when it is engaged and disengaged. For the price it seems to be a solid mod so far.

What have you done to your Taco today....more un-necessary things...
    Regardless...
Just installed my pseudo Raptor lights from:
    https://www.runnin4tacos.com/collections/2016-2018-toyota-Tacoma

Brainless install....did the wire through the engine fuse box per their 2nd video. Worked like a charm.
    LED's are pretty dang bright!
    Great product!

    Hi Tacoma 3G tribe.
I am now an owner of a 17 DCSB with 41K on it.

My previous ride was a 15 DCSB, I "totaled" it at 61K because the insurance said "you only have 10K in body damage but the airbags cost 16K" so it's done!

I've been on TW for a little while, I always was watching/learning and trying to add to "what have you done to your 2nd" form and I still check it.

I'm also on the new-england-b-s-thread often.

    Now I'm Also checking here.

I've already ordered about $200 worth of creature comforts and adds.
I already have in my hands the License frame from @mrproduxn.
Very well made and less plastic on my plastic an probably easier to clean the mud out!

My first question is what the fuck is this thing in the center box?
    storage comparment 1.gif

I want to saw off so I can add a Grid-it.

Does anyone know what it is? It is not in the Manual!!!

When spring comes (sooner then later hopefully) I want to try to get my 15 slider to fit my 17, and hope to buy a new SOS skid when I have enough shekels.

    Anyway, Hi

Welcome and congrats on joining the 3rd gen club, I also had a 15. The center console thing is a pen holder, just a geeh wiz thing. I'll save you the trouble on the sliders, they will not fit as the frame is slightly different between the two gens, so I'd try to sell them locally and grab a new set. Congrats and enjoy the new truck.

Changed the oil at 6,080 miles and installed the short Fumoto valve. Considering Baxter Performance canister adapter for next time.

Congrats on the new (used) Taco. As far as your question, I thought I read a while back that it was to hold a pen I believe. I could be wrong. I'm sure someone will chime in. Enjoy the "new to you" truck.

Edit. Others beat me to it :)
