I've found that 150 lbs centered over the rear axle is plenty for me. But now that I have bed bars and recovery gear stored in the bed (probably about 100 lbs total), I don't bother. It's very well behaved.

 

It's grinding and slipping. Trying to decide if I should try and rebuild it, but I would love to upgrade to a 10k or 12k

 

In my first truck (2wd S-10) I would stop and pick up large rocks in winter and load them in the bed of the truck. Tried to center them over the rear axle but they would always slide around. Between that and the all terrain tires I had on it, damn thing would go pretty much anywhere. I beat the hell out of that truck and it never let me down. Just couldnt drive through puddles too fast. There was a crack in the distributor cap.

 

very nice, hopefully i will have some bed bars and stuff later this year for that as well. i just threw 300lbs of sand in the rear last night all along the axel. just getting ready for the stupidity that will take place during this evenings rush hour with this storm.

 

Anyone have a glock 43? I picked up a slim line safariland mis marked at cabelas. Bought it cause the pkg said s&w shield, product says g43.

Yea it def is up there. Whats cool is those guys all test and ride their own line up and it is pretty amazing to see what even the more subtle frames can handle.

 

I usually aim for 150-200lbs, but sometimes only get 100, but yes anytjing is better then none.

youve got added weight from your bars and stuff though too so im sure that helps.

 

All I've got for now, got dark on us yesterday. Other than the alignment clearly being off it rides way better than stock but has a slight shudder on acceleration, nothing unexpected and honestly could have been there before. Has just the right amount of rake in my opinion.

 

Looks awesome. Those tires are going to fill it out nicely!
