    Shocked it's that much up there due to the beef scene. I keep my Costco Membership specifically for the meat :D and of course wind up with $200 of other bulk crap

    Last time I bought a brisket at Costco it was like $5.38/lb that was Prime of course. I have a buddy that lives over in Snyder, TX that was bragging not too long ago he got some brisket for like $1.69/pound. His big trailer smoker can do 10 or 12 at a time so I guess he better get them cheap when he loads it up.

    @Bigdaddy4760 and I were discussing this past weekend about bulk smoking. at 2.99 a lb smoke like 20+ and Vac-Seal them for gifts. Obviously near a holiday or something.

    Also, @Bigdaddy4760 , can't stop thinking about that other trailer... you'll have to PM me more details :spy:

    Thermoworks has the smoke in charcoal on sale for 20% off $79.20, which happens to be the one I have. Since I picked up the smoke I moved my old Maverick to monitor temps in the dog crate in the back of my truck in summer. IMO the smoke is worth it.

    My buddy does a lot of events.. church functions and the like, plus a few competitions. I'm sure he's never had left overs, but I like your plan... I do a lot of vacuum sealing then freezing. It makes for quick dinners on work nights for me. Just pull something out of the freezer, put it in a pot and fill with water and bring to a boil and let it go for a few minutes on boil. Thawed, reheated and just as delicious as when you put it in the bag.

    Then apparently your listening skills need a bit more regressing.

    Made a loaf of white wheat sandwich bread since this post, entirely from scratch. It is gone now.

    I will be making more, and trying a pumpernickle recipe for a friend of mine who doesn't get out much.
    Almost done with the ribs I smoked a few weeks back. Yay for freezer bags. I have a pork shoulder to smoke soon, not sure what I'll do with it.

    EDIT: correction- going to be doing this next- sourdough bread:

    She brought that up the next day :devil:. I told her it would be a pain to redo the fence to put a gate in and pour a new pad for it. She said "Why not just put it in the garage?"

    sounds like permission to me :rofl:

    Thus the difference in "hearing" and "listening"

    :thumbsup::D

    I have the vacmaster 210 now but want a bigger one. We really enjoy having precooked food.

    Sounds like a YouTube video just waiting to be made!

    It definitely makes life easier! plus all the other things like vacuum sealing smoked cheese or using the vacuum for marinades etc.
