    Thank you! Will do. :)

Why is it people here get so judgemental about an oil change? Sheesh.

It’s one of the lowest cost maintenance items you can do. Who gives a shit if someone changes their oil more frequently than you?

I like to change mine on 5k intervals. Texas is hot and dusty. I tow a lot too. So I spend a $100 more per year than you on oil. Big whoop.

I don’t care if someone follows the 10k interval. That is standard operating procedures for most vehicles. It’s in the owners manual which most people don’t read.

I just find it odd people take sides on this topic. Of all things.

Or if you buy anything except Toyota oil somehow it’s a waste. TGMO is fairly expensive and has shown at BITOG to be made by Mobil 1 in virgin oil alalysis.

You cannot prove nor find any documentation stating a more frequent than OEM specified oil change interval will add life to your engine. If you tell me that is what you "feel" then that's ok, just don't make up shit. It's not true just because you think it.

My suggestion or requested opinion:...read the manual......10k is recommended....do one at 5k, dealer at 1ok, 30k, 40k, etc........do not fall for the free oil change for life gag.....this truck is easy maintenance and most things are DIY.....ask here and people will help.....just keep records and receipts.......30k brake oil change is good but no flush is required.....60k plugs is running bad, if not go to 90k.....welcom and enjoy your new ride

Oil changes for life are not a gag and quite common. The dealer I bought my Tacoma offers free oil changes for life. I now live 2000 miles from that dealer but I could literally drive there now and get scheduled oil changes for free.

If I still lived there I would easily have them changing oil for free for the rest of the trucks life.

Oil is a cheap insurance. Clean oil is always better than dirty no matter what. Yes, 10k interval is most probably not going to kill this engine but 5k will definitely not ;)

I did my first one before 500 miles. Peace of mind, wanted to do it, fluid filmed while I was at it. I'm a believer in getting factory fill and break in particles out.

I lead my life through my own experience, wisdom, intuition, and truth. I ask that you respect and honor that. You lead yours by believing what you read and are told. I respect and honor that.

There you go and that's fine. I also believe what I believe because I have witnessed thousands of hours of component, motor and engine testing. I also have documented the test results. ;)

OP, maybe it’s been a while since you bought a new vehicle. The new thing is to buy McDonalds French fry oil and use it. The breakdown of the protein in the fries when being cooked it great for your motor. Another added benefit is helping save the planet by reusing oil.

I changed my oil and filter at 1k. There was metal debris present from break in. If you held the dip stick the right way, you could see it.

Back on topic, the 2019 Tacos have 10k OCI?
I could have sworn that the manual for my 2018 said 6M or 5K.

Toyota will honor its free oil/filter changes for the first 2 years/25K miles.....at ANY interval, not just 10k miles. I had mine done at 5K and 15k at the dealer for free and had them also check trans/differential fluids and grease U-joint (which cost me $45 at the 15K change). Peace of mind...no other reason.
