Love to have a BAK Revolver X2 on my truck. I would not bother trying to open it till spring. I realize here on the prairie shit freezes during the winter. :)

It comes with a in-line Fuse wire Harness and I ran the power wire to the under the dash fuse box with a low-Profile Add-A Fuse, then ran the ground wire with a eyelet to a convenient bolt adjacent the fuse box.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
    Thanks!

Agreed. Tennant was pretty good, too, but Baker will always be The Doctor in my mind.

Those do look like nice heater tapes (thanks!), but going that route is not without problems. The tape can transfer heat to a pipe because it's in direct contact and envelopes the pipe. Haven't looked at it (can't right now, remember?), but I think it would be somewhat difficult to get heat from the tape to the surfaces that need to be de-iced. It would have to be some form of conduction, maybe by sticking the tape to the underside of the lip of the bed. No idea how one would do this with the tail gate.

Radiation or convection heat transfer from a space heater might be easier and have a better chance, but won't be as low-power (efficient) as the tapes. There are ways of dealing with the possibility of :bananadead:.

As a former boat owner if I still had the boat in the water into December and we were getting a cold snap I used to put a 70 watt incandescent light in the bilge and leave it powered on all the time with shore power. That was enough to keep the bilge warm enough to keep the heat exchangers (inboard engines) from freezing. Those halogen work lights throw off a decent amount of heat - maybe bungee one of those down in the bed plugged into the bed outlet and turn it on when you want to try and unfreeze your tonneau cover. Safer - I think - than using a space heater.

I see where you are going with that, however am not sure you have that right.

I am QUITE sure everything in his life from here on with be modified, hence the use of mod. :D

Want to give Dennis "OLECOOT" a shout for his seat mod, I went with the 3/4" depth spacers and could not be more pleased.
    Thanks OLECOOT.

I've been careful to wait for the Sun to warm my factory cover up before folding it. I don't want to tear the seals. But our weather in VA is nothing quite like there. Best of luck tonight and the rest of the week.

I was thinking of the use of conductive heat. Most covers, that I have seen, have metal rails. This if the tape was on the bottom of the rail as close to the seal edge as possible conduction should be able to keep the seal area above freezing. The seal meeting the tailgate similarly is mounted on a metal bar or plate of a kind. I would think the same would hold true.

As long as no damage has been done to the heat tape/wire it could be returned if it does not work as desired. IF not it is not a big $ investment to have fail.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!

Like I said, it may be possible, I'll just have to look at it next time I'm able. The "problem" with the tail gate I mentioned was just getting the tape from the outlet into the gate and still have the gate open and close without the tape getting in the way or getting pinched somewhere. A minor consideration.
