Really did this yesterday but the 76 year old bod was to tired to post, little sore this morning. Did the 40K service on the Tacoma. Oil and filter, rear end lube change, rotate tires, check and clean all the brakes. Checked the U joints and carrier bearing all good, no zerks so couldn't lube. My old truck had zerks guess when they need to be lubed you change them. Truck is very clean underneath, previous owner did drive much in bad weather, new rear springs. Rear end oil looked good may have been change once alread brakes at 50% no leaks. Took good part of the day but I am not as fast as I once was. Did change the face plate on the Jensen HU i installed, was happy with the little trim piece the fit around the Head unit would not stay it place so change from Scosche to Metra. Like the fit around the Head Unit and OE pebbled finish, doesn't fit real good at the top where it fits agains dash pad. Little heat my allow it to be bent now to fit flush. Also installed Back Camera left the OE one in mirror the new has the lines and better picture especially at night. Other wise a good day. Yes the Jensen will play DVD while driving if I choose. Next new speakers

I've always wanted these wheels, but I don't think I deserve them yet. Been scratching my stock wheels offroad too often.

Finally got around to installing some LED reverse lights. They're a very welcome upgrade over the stock incandescents. While I was poking around the truck I decided to remove the secondary charcoal air filter from the air box. I took it out for a test drive and it honestly seemed to have a bit more throttle response and didn't feel as bogged down on the steep hills. Could just be a placebo though.. I'm capping off the day by doing the yellow wire mod after lunch. Cheers!

Similar kind of story. I used to have a Dodge 2500 Cummins. It was nearly impossible to start cold, and it was 100% impossible to start after it was warmed up...it either needed a new injector pump, or at least one new injector, or some combination there of. $900 for the IP, and/or $600 for each injector...that wasn't a rabbit hole I was willing to start down so I bought the Taco, and sold the Dodge later (yes I told him ALL about it...I'm not that big of an asshole lol) . Anyhow, my son and I went back to the Toyota dealer to pick up the dodge a couple days after I bought the Taco. Son was gonna drive the dodge home about 50 miles, and was...naturally :) ..gonna drive my newish Taco. Got to dealership afterhours, got the rig started finally and left...him behind me. We get about one mile from home and I call him...goes like this:

Me: "Hey do you want to try to make the turn into the driveway from the alley, or do you want me to" (pretty tight squeeze)

Him: "I'd rather you did it."

Me: "Yep, no problem...I can do it. When you get about 10-15 feet back just stop and I'll get in and make the turn. DO NOT SHUT THE TRUCK OFF!!!....just get out, and I'll get it....Park works just fine....LEAVE IT RUNNING....DON'T FORGET....ok?"

    Him: "Yep, I know."

    hang up....

We get into the alley and guess F-in what........................................

I get out of the Taco and start walking up....sudden silence (which don't happen with a Cummins lol)...

I say "Uhhhh.....was it the 'Dont' part or the 'shut it off' part you didn't understand??" And I laughed at him because now....we gotta push this big bitch into the driveway.

Fun night....but ya just gotta laugh....shit happens and life goes on. Not worth getting mad about.

Installed today: arb bumper, warn m8000, intensity spot + flood, and 3rd gen trd skid painted black. Took 6 hours with help from a friend and floor jack.
Now to tackle wiring for the lights.

Just went by the Toyota Dealership here in TN and they have 7 Tacoma Frames sitting on pallets. Service tech said they should get me through by end of February (install will take 3-4 days) since the install packages haven't shipped yet.

Debating upgrading shocks all around with 5100's. Will the dealer have access to these or should I try to source cheaper and bring to them? Anything else I need to watch out for?

It's an ARE CX with windoors. Here's a better look before lift and bumper.

Came with MGM topper. Added FJammer stereo. LED Bed lights on AOB Flux Capacitor Switch. Added AOB Spy Mode switch for TBD lighting, stay tuned.
Thanks! Yeah, I found the sale thread for the ATH ones. I'll have to check out total chaos. Not sure I'm ready to drop $100+ to fix the gaps. Need to flush fluids, replace an output shaft seal and fix a leaking steering rack first.
I would be interested to see what they are SUPPOSED to look like before I get the stiffies. They kind of look like things would catch on them coming in and out of the bed.

There should be pictures in @At The Helm's FS thread. Is something is really wide it might catch a little but overall it hasn't been an issue.

Replaced my factory battery in prep for the -30° tomorrow. It's hesitated a couple times now and I don't want to be late for work because of it.
