We talking about a 1st gen? If yes the harness for lights is not under the seat. It runs along the door sill, don't even need to remove the seat to access.

 

Just take it and work on it yourself, I’ll pm you wiring diagrams if you need them

 

I would take it somewhere else and not a dealer if you are unable to diagnose it.

 

Just spoke with my ASE mechanic friend. He seems confident so I’m gonna take it away from them and try to extract as much information as I possibly can.
