One of my mates went to the Portland International Auto Show and one of the Toyota representatives there said that the Tacoma will have a diesel option within the next four years. Then one of my colleagues said the same thing. I honestly don't know what to make of this.

The pic is as clear as day in regards to the headlight housing. It definitely is halogen.

Is that a different turn signal location and I cannot tell if headlights are led from my blown up pic?

No one wants a diesel Taco (other than a select few TW members) in significant numbers to make it worth Toyota’s while. That wouldn’t sell any better than the diesel Toyota pickups did in the 80’s (I.E. not really). Running out to your mini-truck to fill the DEF tank before taking it out on the highway for mandatory regen. Ugghhh....that’s a hard pass for most.

    Toyota + Deisel + USA/Canada = no sales.

Diesel is pretty much over. It’s the electric Taco that’s next.

Like someone mentioned earlier, looks closer to the Honda jew headlights (which are LED arrays):

Brightened the image a bit. On a second look, my opinion has changed regarding the headlights. It looks like they're LED. Additionally, they're going away from the cheese grater grills.

Wow, once you brighten it up, you can see the grill pattern. Has a similar pattern to the PRO grill...

Just got my 19 and I feel bad lol. If anyone is waiting on delivery of a 2019, now would be a good time to cancel that order.

I'm not sure what the lens is on the bottom, but I see amber on the outside and inside. Same locations as now, but the inner one doesn't seem to have the clear grille piece.

Also, you can see three repeating reflections in the low beam area. I'm sticking with LED array.

Nice. Way better than the cheese grater grill.

edit. Guess Toyota isn't willing to just let the Ranger have its time in the spotlight.

Not that I want one but I wouldn't say it's not coming. Chevy has it and Ford Ranger will soon, sooo.....

I honestly think a mild hybrid setup like Ram has wouldn't be a bad option for the Taco. Toyota knows its hybrids well, has the technology, seems like a better fit given the industry on a whole seems to be moving away from diesel toward electric.
